Each child built his or her own rocket Bedminster Laura Graves Enos received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, during commencement exercises held on May 29. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy in N.H., she was awarded the Christopher Charles Watras Memorial Women's Ice Hockey Trophy while at Bowdoin. Bernards Kathleen Closkey has been named to the spring dean's list at Allentown College of Saint Francis de Sales in Center Valley, Pa.

A rising sophomore, she is majoring in theology. To make the dean's list, a student must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.25. Kristin McDonough of the township's Liberty Corner section was named to the spring dean's list at Tufts University in Medford, Mass. Bernardsville Karen Forgione received the C. Willard Smith Award during commencement ceremonies at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, on May 16.

The award is given for creative imagination in theater. Forgione graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree and departmental honors in English and theater. A dean's list student, she was recently inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. While at Bucknell, she directed the Cocktail Theatre productions of "In The Presence of Nothing," "The Bald Soprano," and "Drums in the Night." She also starred in the theater's production of "Total Recall." The daughter of Jane and Joseph Forgione, she is a graduate of Bernards High School. Bridgewater Philip Difiore graduated with a juris doctorate degree from New York Law School during commencement exercises held on June 14.

He was articles editor for New York Law School's Law Review. Darren Rydberg, son of Patricia and Herb Rydberg, received a juris doctorate He was sworn into the New Jersey Bar on June 18. Currently an adjunct professor of law and information technology at Seton Hall, he will begin a two-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Katharine Hayden in the United States District Court in Newark. While attending law school, he served as the Essex County Bar Association's Law Student Representative and a three-year senator for the Seton Hall Student Bar Association. He has also authored numerous articles on Internet law and the Y2K problem.

Rydberg is a 1991 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School and a 1995 cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University. Carolyn Murphy received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Delaware in Newark, during commencement exercises held May 29. Jennifer Caden received a bachelor's degree in English from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, during graduation ceremonies on May 23. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Dawn Konnecke received a bachelor's degree in accounting, magna cum laude, from Allentown College of Saint Francis de Sales during commencement exercises on May 22.

Keith James Moran received a bachelor's degree in hotel management from New Hampshire College in Manchester, N.H., during commencement exercises on May 8. Michael Leschinski received a bachelor's degree in environmental science and management from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I., during commencement exercises held on May 23. Andrew a freshman at -Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, was among 21 students who participated in the college's Steel Pan Ensemble spring performance. The student-faculty performance was part of the college's unit, "Analysis, Interpretation and Performance of Steel Pans," taught by Linda Williams, assistant professor of music at Bates. Gruel and the ensemble performed classic calypso works such as Len "Bootsie" Sharpe's "La Bamba" and Harry Belafonte's "Maryanne," as well as contemporary pieces such as "Symphonique a bachelor's degree during the spring commencement exercises at Boston College.

Lynch had a double major in finance and computer science. Lynch is a 1995 graduate of North Plainfield High School. His undergraduate activities at Boston College included community service in the Boston area sponsored by the Ignacio Volunteer program at Boston College. He went to Belize in Central America to teach and coach young children with an Ignacio Volunteer group last January. Peapack-Gladstone Jessica Bennett graduated from Pingry School during commencement ceremonies on June 13.

She plans to attend Duke University in the fall. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Bennett. Oratory Prep School freshman, Martin Ryan, recently ranked 27th out of 830 students who participated in a biology test given by the New Jersey Science League.

Christine Fisher, daughter of John and Eileen Fisher, and a junior at Middlebury College in Middle-bury, spent the academic year studying at the University of Capetown in South Africa. Raritan Suzette Miller graduated from Radford University in Radford, with a bachelor's degree in human development during commencement exercises held at the end of the spring semester. She is the daughter of Richard Miller. Warren David Crandall and Sheryl Kantrowitz graduated from Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y., during commencement exercises held May 16. Both received bachelor's degrees in advertising design.

Jeffrey Crum, a senior at Oratory Prep School, took 27th place for the school's chemistry team in a series of competitive tests given by the New Jersey Science League. He will attend the Catholic University of America in the fall. Suzanne Lotowycz, daughter of Leo and Lorraine Lotowycz, was named to the fall and spring dean's lists at Pennsylvania State University. An international business major at in the Smeal School of Business, she earned a 4.0 grade point average for the spring semester. Watchung Andrew DeFilippis has been selected to receive the Henry Sal-vatori Scholarship from the Sons of Italy Foundation.

He was among 12 scholarship recipients from across the U.S. honored at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., during the 11th Annual National Education and Leadership Awards Gala on May 22. On hand to greet this year's scholarship competition winners were President Clinton, Larry King, Frank Sinatra HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo and Isaac Hayes. During the past year, DeFilippis carried a 4.35 weighted grade point average at Delbarton School, scored 1540 on his SAT's, was a National Merit and AP Scholar, and attended the New Jersey Governor's School for Public Issues. it'' 1 VU lege in Gettysburg, by maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.33 throughout the semester.

Bruce Herve and Keith Moran have been named to the president's list at New Hampshire College in Manchester, N.H., by maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.5 throughout the spring semester. William Shurina has been named to the dean's list at the University of Massachusetts for the spring semester. A marketing major, he is a 1996 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School and the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Shurina.

Sarah Adams has earned academic honors at Purdue University in West Lafayette, for the spring semester. To earn honors, students must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester. Adams is studying agriculture while at Purdue. Aimee Carle has been selected for the spring dean's list at Centenary College in Hackettstown. To make the list, she had to maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 throughout the spring semester.

Green Brook Michael Loffredo, a natural science major at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, has been named to the dean's list for the 1999 spring semester. A graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Loffredo. Medical Center in Manhattan. At UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School, Lipani was president of his class, elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and received the Stanley S. Bergen M.D. Medal of Excellence. The medal, awarded by Isabel Miranda, chairperson of the UMDNJ board of trustees, is presented to the graduating student who best exemplifies academic excellence.

Lipani is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Lipani. Matthew Bridges, Jaclyn Cor-divari, Michael Hopkins, Jesse Semanchik and Karim Younan made the spring dean's list at the University of Delaware in Newark, by maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.33 throughout the semester. Jason Draine has made the spring dean's list at Castleton State College in Castleton, Vt.

Jennifer Caden has made the spring dean's list at Gettysburg Col degree from the Seton Hall School of Law in January and a master's in business from the Seton Hall Stillman School of Business in May.
