THE OTTAWA HERALD Tuesday, April 23, 1963 Quarterly Meeting Of Baptist WMS The quarterly meeting of the Woman's Mission Society of the Miami Baptist Association will be held at Louisburg Wednesday with registration at 10 a.m. Mrs! Fred Stoldt, Paola, will give the call to worship and Mrs. W. M. Nickelson, Olathe, will give devotions. The Paola WMS will give, "A Jonquil for Emily," and Mrs. Raymond P. Jennings will speak on the subject, "Committed in India." There will be a musical selection arranged by Mrs. Ruth Curry, Spring Hill. A covered dish dinner will be served with the host church furnishing meat, rolls and drink. During the business session which starts at 11:10, an offering will be taken to supply funds for the work of the association. A short song session will open the afternoon session at 1 p.m. After a skit, "What is That in Your Hand," by the Osawatomie WMS, there will be division workshops with association officers in charge. The event also marked the 29th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Drum, Baldwin, and the birthday of Cindy Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis, Williamsburg. Mrs. Earl Drum, Mr. and Mrs. Marlyn Laird, Mr. and Mrs. Riley Drum and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Drum, and families, Topeka; Alan Carr, Kansas City; Danny Drum and Carol Gates, Lawrence; Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Kring and family, Kansas City; Ernest Eaton, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Todd, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis, Williamsburg; Mrs. Cora Davis, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Carr, Ottawa. 017 Student In Contest An Ottawa University student, Gene Ruth Smith, Garnett, is one of seven young women entered in the "Miss Garnett" pageant to be held in the Garnett High School auditorium Friday night, April 26. She will give a dramatic reading as her talent presentation. . The six other contestants are Joyce Elaine Lickteig, Greeley; Carol Ann Bain, Colony; Mary Ann Weiss, Carol Ilene Fooshee, Daisy Mae Hydorn and Glenda Lou Fawkes, all of Garnett. The pageant is sponsored by the Garnett Business and Professional Women's Club, which is adding $100 in scholarship awards to the $100 offered by the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company. Burt Brewer, radio station KOFO, Ottawa, will be master of ceremonies. Mrs. David Laury, also of Ottawa, is one of the five judges who will determine the finalists. The Baby Has Been Named At Ransom Memorial Hospital: The daughter born April 19 to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jerome LeValley, 718 Cypress, has been named Kimberly Marie. She weighed 7 lb., 9 oz. The son born April 20 to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Leroy Bryan, 817 Ash, has been named Timothy Wayne. He weighed 9 lb., 4»/2 oz.
