T. Jackton to H. J. Taking the average of the total amounts rainfall for each, year, for four years, 6S.lCx41.73i58.eii45.81) we have 52.4 inches. The fall may be a little less or a little more.

Take the minimum rainfall for one year, 43 inches or Sj- feet. Suppose a house has roof area of 30x20 feet, equal to (300 square feet. This multiplied by Si would give 2.100 cubic feet. This multiplied by 6-2355, number of gallons in a cubic foot, would give 18094.5600 as the number of gallons for the year. This divided by 305, number of days in the year, would give a daily allowance of 35.87 gallons.

This, it must be recollected, is the minimum. Now, tho mar.imun; rainfall in the paet four years, recorded in the books of tbe United States Office, is no less tlmn 5i By taking housa of the same as before, 30x20--OOOx 51--3150enbicfiet; multiplied by 6.2355, number of gallons in a cubic foot, gives 19,642.02 annual fall. Divided by 365, number of (lays in a year, gives 53.82 daily allowance. This is according to the maximum fall. By adding the maximum and minimum daily amounts, and divii 44.3- either over-estimating or underrating, be taken aa the amount of available water supplied by heaven for the daily con- Bnmpsion of Qalveatan, if means were taken to catch it, Oleander Park.
