Eugene Senneville, pastor of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre will be honored at a tea at the rectory in Port Barre on Sunday, Sept. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. The occasion marks the completion of 25 years of priesthood.

Ira Burleigh was to have entertained the circle but because of the hurricane the meeting was cancelled. was Glen Ortego. Groomsmen were Norbert Fontenot, Honore Pitre, Clayton Fontenot, Dave Doucet and Robert Ramoin. The flower girl, wearing a long white satin frock, was Angie Briley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Ronald Briley. She carried a basket of multicolored daisies. Scott Briley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Briley was ring bearer.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Teen Age Center. Mrs. Fontenot chose a black and silver knit dress with matching sleeveless coat. She wore a corsage of red carnations. Mrs.

Roberie, mother of the groom, chose a gray and black knit dress and wore a corsage of white carnations. Members of the houseparty for the reception included Mrs. Ronald Briley, Mrs. Levi Smith, Mrs. James Picard, Mrs.

Landrus Roberie and Mrs. James Briley. For her wedding trip, the new Mrs. Roberie wore a burgundy knit pantsuit with aqua trim and the orchid from her wedding bouquet. They are both graduates of Evangeline Academy and upon their return will make their home in Ville Platte.

VILLE PLATTE-Presaging the coming of autumn were the tones of gold and green used in the gowns of the bridal attendants for the wedding of Miranda Ann Fontenot to Richard James Roberie which was solemnized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Saturday at 10 a.m. Msgr. Edward Fruge officiated at the nuptial mass and double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Vernal Fontenot and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Roberie of Grand Prairie are parents of the groom. Nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Vernon Ortego at the organ.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore anEmpire gown of silk organza over peau de soie, embellished with imported Alencon lace. The high necked bodice was of the Alencon, pearlized at the neckline. The sleeves of organza with full puffs showed bandings of the Alencon which was also used to form a wide panel to the hemline of the full skirt. Her full veil of illusion was held by a flat bow of self-material and draped to a graceful cathedral train. She carried a shower of gladiola florets centered with a yellow threated white orchid.

Serving as maid of honor was Sandra Brown, with Cathy Soileau, Cheryl Smith, Pam Fontenot, Becky Touchet and Marilyn Briley as bridesmaids. They were identical gowns of gold silk crepe, fashioned with nigh neckline and short puff sleeves. Lace banding inserted with olive green velvet ribbon accented the high neck and Empire waistline Float bows of the same green velvet with daisy trimmed streamers were worn as their headpieces and they carried full sprays of white glads. Fink's home. The contest to select the child rulers of the 1971 Yambilee will be held at 7 p. m. Friday, Oct. 1, in the Agricultural Building on the Yambilee grounds.

Let set for 21 days, stirring each day. The cherry juice gives a pretty color to the fruit.

At the end of 21 days, the fruit will ferment and rise to the top of the jar. Remove the fruit and place it in a covered container in the regrigerator. It is now. ready to serve over ice. cream, sundaes or as a topping for pound cake with a dash of whipped cream.

The remaining syrupy liquid is now ready to distribute to friends so they can make their own "Friendship if you to start another batch, reserve a cup for yourself. Co-hostesses with Mrs. Pepitone were Mrs.

John Lee Fontenot and Mrs. Edmond Tate. The brjde elect wore a silk print dress with a cymbidium orchid corsage. Her mother, Mrs. Jesse Clark, chose a blue and white silk print dress and Mrs.

Yves Foret, mother of the groom-elect, wore a beige and brown silk crepe dress. They were presented corsages of white daisy chrysanthemums. Similiar daisy corsages were worn by the hostesses. Summer Flowers The serving table was centered with an arrangement of sweetheart roses, daisies, begonias, althea and fern in a silver bowl. Flanking the arrangement were lighted tapers in three-branched silver candelabra.

Denise and Angie Fontenot registered guests, and Lorise and Yvette Fontenot assisted the hostesses. Especially pretty among the flowers used throughout the house was a design by Mrs. Rene Hollier of Mamou. It was made with sweetheart roses, Rose of Montana, butterfly lilies, dahlias, chrysanthemums and greenery. Slumber Party Marks Birthday ARNAUDVILLE Sandra Johnson entertained friends at a slumber party Saturday night at the home of her parents, Mr.

The event is sponsored by Eunice Players Theatre, Inc. and is semi-formal. Admission is by invitation only. Religion Classes Set To Begin EUNICE Dr. Jack Miller, president of St.

Anthony's Parish CCD announces that the CCD School of Religion will begin Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 20 and 21. The elementary school, grades 1 through 7 will begin at 3:30 p.m. at St. Edmund's School.

The high school, grades 8 through 12, will begin at 7 p.m. at St. Ed's. It was announced that children are no longer divided into groups representing their respective schools, but may attend the classes best suited to the conveneince of their parents.
