Dear presiding*. Harold Weaver, .chairman of the ladies night committee, reported all arrangements completed for the program Saturday night In the Elks home. One hour ;of special entertainment from Hollywood IB to be offered, followed by a buffet lunch and dancing from 10 to 12 o'clock. Dedication of the Elks plot at the West Side cemetery Sunday morning at 10 o'clock was arranged. The dedication will be in charge of Rob- .ert I. Montgomery, district deputy a grand exalted ruler of the east central district, assisted by local officers. A ritual In tic contest between Portervillo, Bakersfield and Taft Elks lodges will take place In Taft Elks home Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Scotty Harris, Chairman of the 'dance committee, announced the first dance will be held Saturday * evening, September 19, with dancing for members and visiting Elks from 10 to 2 o'clock. Applications for membership were voted upon and initiation will be held September 16. Gifts TAFT, Sept. 11.—Taft Chapter No. 887, Eastern Star, will hold its regular meeting Tuesday night at 8 o'clock in the Masonic temple. The meeting will be followed by a short program and community singing. Any chapter member wishing tp donate white elephants for Li Estre 11 a Club bazaar is asked to wrap the articles and bring them to the meeting for the club president, Mrs. Mario Gulnn.
