(UPI Telephoto) Snowstorm Barrels Out Of The Plains By United Press International A howling snowstorm barrelled out of the Plains and into the Midwest Saturday, burying portions of Missouri and Kansas in deep snowdrifts, clogging Chicago with more than a half foot of snow and halting air and land travel. The storm buried parts of Kansas and Missouri under nearly a foot of snow and wind gusts of up to 40 mph piled drifts three feet high, blocking many roads.

Snow fell in blinding clouds in Chicago, shutting down 0'Hare International Airport the world's busiest by midday, Eight inches of snow had fallen by midmorning. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Grand Prairie, for Henry S. Fontenot, 65, of Grand Prairie. He died at 9 a.m. Saturday in Opelousas General Hospital.

He had been ill for several years. Burial will in Bellevue Memorial Park, Opelousas, under the direction of Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main Street.
