Lynn Fournet; Debbie Duplechin, daughter of Mr. Edmund Twenty Eight Vie for 'Miss Eunice' Title; Contest Is Saturday EUNICE "Miss Eunice of 1968" will be chosen from 28 contestants at the annual beauty pageant to be staged at Eunice High School Saturday at 8 p. under the auspices the St. Edmund cher Club. Miss Eunice, to be selected by out-of-town judges, will choose the festival that she wishes to attend from the Yambilee, Opelousas; Rice, Crowley; Cotton, Ville Platte; Swine, Dairy, Abbeville; and Livestock, Kaplan.

Runners-up in the order of their placement will choose from the remaining festivals. One alternate will also be named. The reigning Miss Eunice, Sherry DeRouen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.

J. DeRuen will give her farewell message and will also crown the new title holder. The crown will be furnished by the P.TC. Miss Eunice and each of six runners-up will be presented with bracelets. In addition, charm, Eunice will be showered with gifts and gift from local merchants.

Carl Comeaux will play the organ for the procession of contestants, and "'The Back Door" musical group will provide entertainment between judging events. Contestants are: CHARLYNNE FOURNET, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Fournet; JEAN LOUISE ROUGEAU, daughter of 1 Mr. and Mrs.

(Redlich Photo) Dunn- Nuptial Vows Pledged in Ville Platte VILLE PLATTE Sacred Heart setting Saturday for the marriage of Mr. and 4 Mrs.

Howard L. Pitre, to Kenneth Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Houston Dunn of Alexandria. Rev.

Grady Estillette officiated at the 11 a. m. ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of silk organza combined with imported lace. The round neckline was edged in lace, re-embroidered in iridescent sequins and pearls.

Motifs of the lace were re-embroidered on the front of the skirt, ed and the lace train was bordered with silk organza. Her veil was held by a flat bow of organza, and she carried a shower of gladiolas. Maid of honor was Evelyn Dunn, sister of the groom. Julie and Marylin Dunn, other sisters, and Jeanne Lafleur were bridesmaids, with Ann Ortego as junior bridesmaids. Their floor length gowns were of white bounded crepe.

Velvet ribbon streamers accented the Empire waistline and a bow of the velvet formed their headpieces. Joseph Scarborock was best man, with Frankie Rachal, Tommy and Francis Thiles as groomsmen. Charles Pitre was junior groomsman. The Reception A reception was held at the Community Center. Mrs.

Pitre wore a bone knit dress with a flowered hat, and Mrs. Dunn chose a two piece outfit of blue and white knit. Both wore glamelia corsages. Floral arrangements in pink and white, were used. The bride's le was overlaid with a white cutwork cloth and centered with the round tiered cake, decorated with pink roses.

It was centered with the miniature bridal couple in an arch of flowers. Pink rosebuds and lace fern garlanded the base. Tall tapers in three Catholic Church was the of Dolores Pitre, daughter Dunn wore a moss green frock with black accessories. MRS. KENNETH DUNN branched candelabra completed the setting.

For going away the new Mrs. F.J. DEROUEN FAMILY TRAVELS TO MORGAN CITY FOR REUNION EUNICE Members of the family of Mr. and Mrs. F.J.

De Rouen Sr. held a reunion in Morgan City Sunday, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney DeRouen and children, Jacque, Renee, Andre and Suzanne. The occasion also marked Rodney DeRouen's birthday.

The Eunice DeRouens assembled at one point and formed a motorcade for the trip. In the group were Mr. and Mrs. F.J. DeRouen Sr.

and daughter, Sherry DeRouen, and Terry Larson; Mr. and Mrs. Karl DeRouen and children, Karly and Ann; Dr. and Mrs. F.J.

DeRouen Jr. and children, Mark, Leslie, Barry, Jeffrey and Theresa; Mr. and Mrs. Hendrick Langley and children, Kay, Melonie, Michelle and Todd; and from Mamou were Mr. and Mrs.

Richard Reed and children, Lisa, Jahn and Ken. Ville Platte Pair Dances On Fiftieth Anniversary VILLE PLATTE In August Herbert Joubert were married at with Father L. J. Savoy officiating. This past Sunday they celebrated the 50th sary of this event with a reception and old fashioned "faisdo-do" at the Community Center.

Mrs. Joubert wore a green lace dress with an orchid corsage presented by her husband. Music was furnished by George Fontenot, Howard Dupre, Louis Joubert and Felix Thibodeaux. Members of the immediate family attending were Mr. and Mrs.
