the little sentinel, Tuesday, June 15, 1982 5 business Cardinal Industries opens Applewood complex in DeLand By Al Truesdell OF THE SENTINEL STAFF Applewood Apartments, a 69-unit complex located on 4.6 acres at the northwest corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Woodland Boulevard in DeLand is open. The complex is the first DeLand project by Cardinal Industries makers of prefabricated apartments. Cardinal has built nine projects in Volusia County and 108 in Florida since its Sanford plant opened five years ago. Based in Columbus, Ohio, Cardinal Industries opened an Atlanta plant this month. The $2.2 million DeLand development was financed by the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Mid-Florida.

Born in Ocilla, he moved to South Daytona from there in 1955. He was a maintenance man at Daytona Beach Geriatric Center and a member of the First Baptist Church of South Daytona. Survivors: wife, Norma daughters, Judy Welborn, Daytona Beach, Bonnie Barnhart, Terri Paulk, of the Public Relations Society of America at the recent spring assembly in Baltimore. The delegates were nationally accredited public relations professionals.
