Search was made around the spot where Mr. Gordon was killed so as to make the identity perfect, and a knife was discovered hid that was to be his property. A little way from this, the confessing negro 'pointed out the spot where his remains had been buried. Nothing -was left but his charred bones. A little: further; on Tiis horse had been killed, and his saddle cut pieces prevent recognition.

But persons who knew the murdered victim's saddle, at once identified it as the property ot Mr. Gordon. The negroes -who are implicated have been arrested, and turned over to tho military authorities. The people, of neighborhood are in a great state of excitement. A gentleman who arrived in Galveston yesterday, from Wharton, the above, and 'says Gordon a'fl threatened to have 'the -two ''negroes punished for stealing a fine horse, which I pose.
