Paul Anderson Browning-Anderson NEVADA, Mo. — Maynard and Beverly Browning announce the engagement of their daughter, Brenda Lynn, to Lt. Paul Brian Anderson, son of Salinan Marcia Feighny, 2437 Village Lane, and William Anderson of Concrodia. The bride-to-be graduated from Nevada High School and Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. She is a commercial underwriter for SECURA Insurance co. in Kansas City, Mo. Her fiance, a Salina Central High School graduate, received a bachelor's degree in Slavic languages and political science from the University of Kansas and a master's degree in international relations from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb. He is a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, stationed in Bellevue, Neb. Their marriage is to be solemnized at 7 p.m. Dec. 28 at the First Christian Church in Nevada. John Goertzen Jessica Vernon Vernon-Goertzen GYPSUM — Steven R. and Pamela J. Vernon announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica A., to John R. Goertzen, son of Salinans Robert E. and Elizabeth S. Goertzen, 406 E. Cloud. The bride-to-be graduated from Southeast of Saline High School, Gypsum, attended Kansas State University and completed the Salina Area Vocational-Technical School's dental assistant program. She is a training assistant at Sunflower Bank in Salina. The future groom, a Salina Central High School graduate, attended Kansas State University-Salina and completed an Emergency Medical Technician training program. He is a firefighter and EM- TA for the Salina Fire Department. The couple are to exchange wedding vows at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina. Bev Heler Kevin Blrney Heier-Birney BUCKLIN — Bev Heier and Kevin Birney announce their approaching marriage. Parents of the couple are Linus and Marilyn Heier of Grinnell and Raymond and Peggy Birney of Bucklin. The bride-elect graduated from Grinnell High School and Barton County Community College of Great Bend and received a bachelor's degree in secondary education from the University of Wyoming. She teaches and coaches in Bucklin public schools. Her fiance is a graduate of Bucklin High School and the Liberal Area Vocational-Technical School. He is self-employed in Bucklin. They plan to exchange wedding vows at 3 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grinnell. The future bride graduated from Salina South High School and received a bachelor's degree in business administration/general business from Washburn University. She works for Hills Pet Nutrition in Topeka. Her fiance, a graduate of Topeka's Seaman High School, majored in math education at Washburn. He works for the City of Topeka. They plan to wed June 14 in Topeka. Holly Waldo Jeremy Gillund Waldo-Gillund Salinans Dale and Emily Waldo, 2386, announce the engagement of their daughter, Holly, to Jeremy Gillund, son of Shari Gillund, 1320 Sarah Lane, and the late Micheal Gillund. The bride-to-be, a Salina South High School graduate, is a December candidate for graduation from Cloud County Community College of Concordia.
