Mttoirty Mom tor-Index Evening Democrat, May 1972 Mri, Baker Goulds Are And Daughter Guests Here Are Honored A surprise shower was held In honor of Mrs. Virgil Biker and baby daughter, Kathy Jo of Camdenton, formerly of Moberly. The shower was held in the home of Mrs. Louie Helmich, Clifton Hill, with Mrs. Maurice HeddJnghaus, Moberly, as co- hostess.

Games were played with prizes going to the honorees. Refreshments of mints, cookies, and punch were served, Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Baker, Sarah and Kathy Jo; Mrs. Berma Webster, Mrs.

Lillian Harlan, Mrs. Maudie Webster, Mrs. Barbara Harlan, Mrs. Otto Helmich and Linda; Mr. and Mrs.

Maurice Heddinghaus, Larry, Donna and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Helmich, Bruce, Marcel, Pamela and Dora. Sending gifts were: Mrs. Ola Belle Turchie, Mrs.

Paul Winkler, Mrs. Betty Overfelt, Mrs. Nadine Neeson and Mrs. Mary Moore. Ends Season With Dinner PARIS The Clio Club held its closing program Saturday night.

Fifty-three members and guests attended a dinner party at Mark Twain Cafe. The tables were decorated in red and white, club colors, and bouquet of flowers. Martin Barnabas, an exchange farm student from Malaysia, was guest speaker. He is living in the Delbert Sudbrock home and attending the Centralia High School Serving on the program committee for the closing session were Mrs. Paul Gerster and Mrs.

Elsie Vaughn. The decorating committee consisted of Mrs. H. Grady Warren, Mrs. F.

A. Barnett and Mrs. Capp Ransdell. Mrs. Leo Smithey, Mrs.

Lloyd Krummel and Mrs. Helen Mutti were members of the menu committee. Mr. and Mrs. William Harry Moberly visiting Mrs.

Gould's brother-in-law and sister, Mr, and Mrs. Loye W. Wisdom, at 510 South Clark street. Gould, a former employe of The Monitor-Index, retired from Civil Service on March 31 of this year after more than 35 years in federal service. He was deputy security officer of the Naval Ordnance Laboratory, White Oaks, for nearly 20 years and served more than four years during World War II.

The Goulds plan to continue their residence in Maryland for the present as their son-in-law and diiughter, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Simpson, and two grandsons live in Fairfax, Va. Mrs. Simpson is the former Miss Karen Gould.

To keep active, Gould said they may build a house on their waterfront lot located near the mouth of the Patuxant Uiver, Solomons, Md. While the Goulds are in the area, they plan side trips to Rogers, and Corydon, and occupying themselves with traveling and fishing. Barnett Club Meeting With Mrs. Bradley Mrs. 0.

D. Bradley was hostess to nine members who attended the regular meeting of the Barnett Extension Club recently at the club house. After a covered dish luncheon, Mr. Harold Anderson, president conducted a short business meeting, opened i a devotional given by Mrs. Jack Spratley.

The group plans to visit the noted Iris garden of Mrs. Loretta Griffin soon. The program on crafts was given by Mrs. Effie Winscott and Mrs. Dempsey Randell.

Craft displays were brought, ideas exchanged and patterns cut. A social hour followed. Others persent were Mrs. Nelson Voorheis, Mrs. Irene Reed, Mrs.

Helen Saunders and Mrs Bea Tucker. Officers will be installed at the June 2 meeting with Mrs. Eula WidmerandMrs. Anna Stone as hostesses. The meetings will be held under the direction of Thomas J.

Davis Jr. grand master of chief executive officer of Missouri Freemasons at Carrollton, on Friday night, May 19lh. Other officers of the Moberly Lodge scheduled to attend with Winter are James H. Oliver, Max Lebeck and Fred Steucken. The area meeting is one of 15 that will be held in various locations throughout the state for the nearly 2,500 Masters, wardens and secretaries, and district officers that serve Missouri's 582 lodges and 110,000 Freemasons.

Davis, 51, a southeast Missouri insurance executive, will be assisted by Grand Lodge Secretary Frank A. Arnold, other state officers and members and their communities. Also attending the area meeting from Old Milton Lodge will be District Deputy Grand Master Albert Martin; and District Deputy Grand Lecturer Edwin Hawkins from the Higbee Lodge, both the lath Masonic District. The Marksmen travel extensively on weekend engagements throughout the Midwest. Presently a Texas- Oklahoma tour is being arranged by Slylite Talent of Nashville, The group's lead singer and manager is Jerry Rozell cousin of veteran tenor "Rosie" Rozell who won acclaim with 'The Statesman (Juartet. The group also includes Claude and Paula Childers. John Smith Jack Kelley and Dickie Barnes. The group was originally known as The Ambassadors.

The name change was effected March 1, 1972. Cairo Graduates In Have Reunion Five graduates of the Cairo High School class of 1932 held a reunion at Reed's Corner Cafe Saturday. There were 12 graduates that year. Graduates attending were Judge Hartley Huntsman, of the Randolph County Court; Mrs. Creola Skinner Jones, Kirksvilie; Mrs.

Mulnix's son, Gene Mulnix, of Thompson, Mo. Her text was the Devotions and Dialogues for Women, titled "Serenity of the Soul," with scripture reference from Ecclesiastes 3, verses 1-1117. Mrs. Bredford V. Powell, wife of Trinity pastor, Dr.

Powell, presented the program taken from the study course, "Leap in Faith." Her topic was "World Mission."
