Orange county, Indiana, July 17th, 1870, and moved with her parents to Kansas in 1874, near Emporia, where she united with the Friends Churen at the age of about 18 years. She was married to A Moon August 11th 1895.

They first lived Toledo, Kansas, later at Joplin, Missouri, and McPherson, coming to Larned, Kan, in 1905, where they resided till 1910 when they moved to Hodgeman county, Valley Township, where they made their home until her death, on Wed nesday February 21, 1922 There remains to mourn a belov wife and mother the husband Moon, tour daughters, Ethel, Mrs Geo. Hawking Eva, Mrs John Taylor, Mabel aged 8, Fran ces aged 5 and one son Walter She also leaves three sisters, Mre Hattie Hurst, Mra Margaret Van Gilder and Mrs Mary Barnett and two brothars, Thomas and Joseph Jenkins. One daughter and six sons, also her father, mother, one sister and two brothers have preocded her in death The funeral was under the aus pices of the Royal Neighbors of Larned and Jetmore Members of the Jetmore lodge acted as pallbear era. A short service was held in Jet more by Rev Tharp of the United Presbyterian church and at Larned the funeral was conducted from the Presbyterian church. Part of the service was the singing of her fav orite hymn, "All The Way My Savior Leads Me." She was buried in the Larned cemetery beside her daughter.

We can not really think of her a8 being far away, Her love we know 18 with us un failing day by day. Well, now she's gone and there Wa8 a nice long piece about her in the paper. An' that farm bureau thing they have now has had another extended lecturer, I think they call 'em. It wa8 Miss Pearl Martin. You know she's George's sister, An' Marthy Porter, Mort Pitta in a runnin' the pitcher show. How do I know? I read his ad.

Ain't ads wonderful for news? An' you remember little Allie Mo. Dowell? A great big ad. of some ice-lumber company, whatever that may be, says "manager" right under his name, only he Bigne now I kind o' miss Harry Breese'8 name off the Lindas ad Law, He's sold me paint an' varnish enough to renovate the New Jeru salem Dead? No, he ain't dead yet From what I can learn, he's burma' up the roads an' the prodacts of the Standard Oil Company -auditin' Where do I git all this stuff? Well, Marthy Porter, I'm an intelligent American citizen, an' I aim to keep posted if newspapers kin post me. Wouldn't I like to a eat in that new Methodist church an' -seen them colored pitchers of the life of Christ. Of course, I've seen plenty pitcher shows, but this here com munity revival they's been a-havin' back there set me to thinkin' of the services we used to hold 10 them old churches, the tall atone one, an' that little wooden one on the corner, bet by stoves an' colder than stepmother's kiss.

An' I wonder if there's sufficient gratitood in the common church members for blear. inge presently received, They ain't 80 bad off back there, Ain't neither of the banks busted yet an' the Board of County Com missioners are out a-viewin' more roads to conquer. I'm goin' to renew right away. 16 DRIVERS IN AUTO RACE Los Angeles, -At least sixteen drivers will compete in the 200- mite automobile race to be run oll the Los Angeles Speedway February according to announcement by A Young, secretary of the speed way association.

This will be the first race of the year for points in the 1922 national championship competition. in addition, $25,000 in cash prizes will be distributed. Drivers who have already signed to enter Include Ralph DePalma, Eddie Hearne, Jimmy Murphy, Tommy Milton, Jerry Wonderlich, Joe Thomas, Harry Eddie Miller, Dud Hill and Art Klein, allot whom have driven in previous races here.
