Burk caught fire Friday night and did considerable damage. Mrs. Darter, wife of the Methodist pastor, has been quite ill for several weeks. She is reported to be improving. Miss Beulah Moore, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Bert Moore, who has employed in Fulton, has accepted a position in the office of the Tweedie shoe factory. Dr. and Mrs. E.

McD. Rusk motored St. Louis Tuesday where Mrs. Busk is to be under the care of a specialist for a few weeks. E.

L. Bowman bought a new 1930 Ford from Roy Clatterbuck, salesman for the Jefferson Motor Company. Mr. Bowman is planning a trip to Wyoming in his new car. Mr.

and Mrs. Arnold Bedsworth of near Guthrie, announce the arrival of a nine and one-half pound boy at St. Mary's Hospital at Jefferson City, Saturday night. Mrs. Bedsworth and little son are getting along nicely.

Miss Doris Bax of Freeburg, FORDLAND, Feb. --John Swearnegin, 45, a farmer Dogwood. was instantly killed last night when an automobile in which he was riding, crashed into- a clump of trees near here. -Everett Burts, 40, was probably fatally hurt, and Miss Edith Inman, 13, seriously hurt. Others in the machine, Mellie Nolan, 12, Everett Bruton, Seymour, auto salesman and Wilma Swearnegin, 14, were cut and bruised.
