Holt, 2715 Jefferson S.W. April 10; 1950. Mason City, la. High School Art Show at Library Now are the days when accomplishments not revealed by final examinations are displayed in concerts, exbibits and performances of various sorts. At the Mason City Public Library can be seen the art work done by Mason City High School students in the art classes of Warren Ruby.

It can not only be seen, but admired as well, because much of it is good. A CHARCOAL, "Prowlers," is notable for the maturity of concept and the portrayal of fear. and lurking danger. The drawing in this picture is skillful. Drawing ability is also outstanding in a detailed ink, "County Doctor." One of the most charming pictures in the collection is "Evening Feeding." This has a feeling of motion in 1 the circle of the girl and the geese which suggests a playful dance.

"Hayride" is another portrayal. There is a group of exotic flower paintings, spectacular in their gay coloring. Poster size, also are portraits -a series in which Mr. Ruby finds himself hanging alongside Anita Ekberg-not a bad location. LESSONS IN DESIGN provide the basis for a group of motifs in which elephants turn out to be lavender and mice, pink.

There is- a group of bouse plans which indicate workmanlike' drawing and drawing skill is part of the commendable whole of the few watercolors in the collection. Fashions are on display in a collection of drawings of models in mink, dark satin and velvet. The show will be a part of Library week observance of the Mason City Public Library and patrons who plan to attend various events of the wake up and read schedule, may well take a wide-awake look in the library foyer to see what is being done in the way of art in the high E.
