This has never been one of those worries that keeps me wide-eyed in bed of a night. You know, too bad about poor Henry Winkler; lots of other actors never make it big at all. So what are these two-bit TV series stars griping about? BESIDES, THE real Henry Winkler doesn't look at all like that plastered-down-hair dude on "Happy Days." Winkler's fluffed-up hair is actually quite nice. In "Heroes' which looks like a made-for-TV movie and a bad one at that this Winkler is a different-type-altogether than The Fonz. Here, he plays a Vietnam veteran who has been in and out of a mental ward for five years.

There's something of the premise of the Jack Nicholson character in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" here in that Winkler's "Heroes" character, Jack Dunne, can be a charmer and sometimes even irresistible. But, annoyingly, Winkler is just trying too hard. It isn't that he's a rotten actor exactly; it's more like you can tell he IS acting. That's a no-no. IN ADDITION, poor Fonzie gets no help from director Jeremy Paul Kagan.

And, scriptwriter James Ca-rabatsos has our hero dashing around the country with implausible motivation visiting war buddies with the purpose of starting a worm farming business, befriend- 7:30 I 1 11.10 IT'S VOIK THING in ING ing a reluctant bride (Sally Field, who also played a runaway bride in "Smokey and the and then apparently not knowing what to do with her and, finally, going berserk in Eureka, Calif, (of all places). Now Sally Field if this can be said of anyone in this directionless mess steals the show. Field was very good indeed in "Sybil," "Stay Hungry" and even that "Smokey" movie she is merely good here. But we'd chalk that up to direction and writing again. We hesitate to bring up old images once more, but she has certainly shed the "Gidget-Flying Nun" stigma.

THERE IS also quite a pleasant supporting performance from Harrison Ford (Han Solo in "Star as one of Winkler's worm farming buddies. "Heroes" will probably be a commercially successful movie. It gives audiences a lot they seem to like attractive players, flippant (though shallow) dialogue, chases, an emotional ending, offbeatness, harmlessness. Well, that's swell and good for some producer's pocket book, we reckon. But it ain't art.
