30 the little sentinel, Wednesday, July 26, 1978 Boys and girls prefer desegregation in school basketball the athletic scene before making any changes. Spooning Herky Cush Clamoring for equality in sports isn't the case when it comes to the girls who play high school athletics especially basketball. The gals want things their own way not the way the fellows have it. That means playing on their own nights in front of their own fans without having to patronize the other half. Ironically, fellows want it that way also.

This shift occurred during the Cape Coast Conference and hopefully will not be the trend setter for other areas. The Cape Coast loop has scheduled the girls games the same nights as the guys. Moreover; during the season, second half the girls will be playing the feature game fellows will be playing at 5:45 p.rn.vith the girls following at 8 p.m. Unknowingly, the CCC may be creating an unhealthy situation for the girls. Fans wishing only to watci the boys' game may suddenly depart prior to the girls' Speaking of distaff basketball, here's a note for Lake Howell and Lake Brantley fans who wish to follow the careers of two of their top stars.

Howell's Cindy Frank and Brantley's Teresa Tinsley will soon be leaving for Florida State University where they'll be vying for a spot on coach Dianne Murphy's FSU distaff Seminole varsity. The Lady Seminoles' season lidlifter is slated for Nov. 10 when the FSU cagers trek to Mississippi State. The home opener is Nov. 17 with national power Mercer University.

While the distaff Seminoles play home and home series with nearly all the other state schools, they only play nearby Stetson University once. event. The girls could be jolted as they watch their peers leave the gym uninterested, in their cliffhanger game. Positions of the various coaches in the loop were also not considered by the CCC. Boys' and Girls' prep basketball are making great strides in the Stata don't need any ''outside" interference from within to influence that progress.
