Women's bill awaits Governor's signature Amendment 39 od Senate Bill 753, which would establish the office of the Illinois Women's Advocate in the office of the Governor, passed the illinois legislature on June 30 and now awaits the signature of Governor Thompson. According to members of a Thompson will sign the bill within the 90 day legal limit and affirm his campaign promises by appointing the Illinois State Women's Advocate in early August.
