Louis Catholic Church, Christian Women and Little Flowers Mission Group. James Happke was born April 11, 1938, at home to Alois and Wilhelrnina (Kruschek) Happke. He played drums with the Jolly Fisherman, and later farmed and worked for the local meat market and creamery. He married Patricia Kroll on June 8, 1959, in St Joseph's Catholic Church. They lived on the family dairy farm northwest of Pierz and later purchased the homestead. They retired in 1988.

He was a township supervisor, director of the Little Rock Qreamery Board, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters, Timothy, Pierz; Thomas, Coon Rapids; Charles, Brooklyn Park; Stephen, Lee's Summit, Christine Andrea, Champlin; father, Pierz; sisters and brother, Marcia Athman and John Pierz; Joyce Smeija, Royalton; Lila Norton, New Richmond, and Miltona. He retired in May 1982 as chief warrant officer four. He worked as the armament repair supervisor and later as shop foreman at the combined support maintenance shop at Camp Ripley. He retired May 12, 1979. He was a member of St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Little Falls VFW Post 1112, Little Falls American Legion Post 46 and the Pinnacle Club.
