He and Mrs. Ethington live in a comfortable white house a block off Rudd's main street. Ethington, who says "I i A never was a druggist, just a drug store cleric," has twice been the owner of the Rudd Drug Store. Hazael Ethington was born at. Ml.

Vernon in 1886. When he was 14 the family moved to Nebraska where they farmed four years, then moved to State Center. After a short time there Jiey moved to the Rudd vicin- ty. AT HE WAS married to Nelson of Rudd. They 'armed in this vicinity until 1929.

After a vacation in California they decided Iowa and the farm "looked pretty good." In 1935, Gayle, the Ethington's eldest son, was studying pharmacy. Ethington bought the Rudd Drug Store from his brother-in-law, Charles Carragher. Until Gayle completed his course of study his father hirec a pharmacist. War came and Gayle was called into service. Carragher, whose wife was a.

pharmacist, bought back the store. When Gayle returned from service father and son together bought the Rudd Drug Store once more. Gayle has taken over the ownership since his ather's retirement. MR. AND MRS.

Ethington lave five children, Mrs. Alton (Eileen) Muller; Mrs. M. V. (Shirley) Page; Gayle, Eldon, and Mrs.

Harold (Roberts) Norby. And they are very proud of their 11 grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Ethingtpn recently returned from California where they have spent the last eight winters.

and Mrs. William Leerar of Britt, Iowa, has completed his initial course of Air Force basic military training at Lackland AFB, Tex. He has been selected to attend the technical training course for Radio and Radar Maintenance at Keesler AFB, Miss. Basic airmen at Lackland are selected for specialized training at technical schools on the basis of their interests and aptitudes. They are reassigned to the school after four weeks of basis, and are given additional military basic training along with the technical subjects.

Foster Services Planned at St. Ansgar Church ST. sacramen of-the Lord's Supper will be ad ministered at the Good Friday service at the St. Ansgar Meth odist Church at 8 p.m. Miss Mary Jane McNutt will sing 'The Lord's Prayer" at this service.

The early Easter service of Divine Worship will be held at 7 a.m. with the Little Cedar MYF as the guests of the St. Ansgar MYF. Gary Gerlach and How ard Shaw will assist the Rev Pearson in the service, and the girls' trio of Pat Libersky, Mary Jane McNutt, and Mary Nickerson will sing. Following the first service a breakfast will be served in the church basement to the members of the Little Cedar and St.

Ansgar Youth Fellowships. Church school will be at 10 a.m. The second service of Divine Worship will be at 11 a.m. The church choir will present the Easter cantata "Victory Divine" by J. Christopher Marks at the church 3:30 p.m.

Sunday afternoon. The 14 voice choir will' be directed by Miss Clara Moe. Mary Nickerson will be the organist. T. C.

Peterson New Director in Farm Bureau Hancock County Agricultural Agent T. C. Peterson has been appointed director of the program development division of the American Farm Bureau. Peterson has been a member of the AFBF staff 10 years and has served as area field service director for the midwest region. He will continue his present commitments in this; post until a successor has been named.

Peterson succeeds Harry Bryson who recently was named to the new LFBF post of director of inter-organizational relations. native of Iowa and a graduate of Iowa State College, Peterson has been high school principal, coach and vocational agriculture instructor. In addition to his duties here he district fieldman for the Iowa Farm Bureau. In 1942 he was named organizational director for Wisconsin Farm Bureau and served there.until he Joined the AFBF staff in 1949.
