Vegetable Gardening: Mike Liebel, Paynesville, red. 4-Hers from Stearns County were again busy during the Minnesota State Fair with a number of different kinds of exhibits. About 65 4-Hers participated in the various activities at the Minnesota State Fair. A couple of individuals that were recognized for outstanding work included LuAnn Jennis-sen of Sauk Centre for a purple for a crocheting display; Jeff Judes of Sauk Centre who displayed the Grand Champion Jersey; and Del-win Judes of Sauk Centre who displayed the Reserve Champion Brown Swiss. In addition to this group of 4-Hers many others exhibited and received ribbons for their awards.

The livestock judging team scored 44th out of 52 teams. The members were Mark Shimota, Phyllis Schumann, Jeff Meinert and Dan Stark. Coach is Gordon Gablenz. The Sare-the-Fun act representing Benton County at the state fair was done by Busy Bees 4-H Club presenting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
