Kennedy Medical Center. He was born in Littleton, N.C., and lived there before living in Plainfield for 55 years. Mr.

Owens was a maintenance technician for Johnson and Johnson in New Brunswick for 25 years and Harris Steel Corp. in South Plainfield. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Josephine Owens; and seven brothers and sisters. Surviving are his son, Ernest (Dawn) Owens of Wilmington, sister, Dorah Alston of North Plainfield; and a grandson, Montell Owens. Funeral service will be 10 a.m.

Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 216 Liberty Plainfield, preceded by visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Arrangements are by Judkins Colonial Home. Jean Moment Douglas, formerly of Plainfield NEWTOWN, Pa.

Jean Moment Douglas, 95, passed away on Nov. 18, 2007 in Newtown, Pa. Jean was born Jan. 9, 1912 in Newark. Her family moved to Plainfield, where her father, the Rev.

John James Moment, served many years as minister of the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. Jean was married on May 6, 1938 to Walter S. Douglas, also of Plainfield. Walter Douglas served as the senior partner of the consulting engineering firm of Parsons, Brinckerhoff, Quade and Douglas in New York City. She believed strongly in volunteer work for her community.

In Plainfield, she volunteered for her church, Muhlenberg Hospital, the local Garden Club, and was an active member of the Junior League. Both she and her husband shared a love of the water in general and of sailing in particular. After her husband's retirement, they relocated to Jamestown, R.I., where they enjoyed being part of a beautiful New England sailing community. In Jamestown, Jean continued her volunteer work with the Garden Club and Meals on Wheels. She is preceded in death by her adoring husband, "Douger" and her beloved son, David Spalding Douglas.

She is survived by her two daughters, Joanne Douglas Olsson of Fort Collins, and Nancy Douglas Engblom of Yardley, and her four grandchildren, Andrew Brian Engblom of Arlington, Lisa Allison Engblom of Redondo Beach, Justin Douglas Olsson of Washington, D.C., and Schuyler Moment Olsson, currently abroad. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 5 at the Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Jamestown, R.I. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The David Spalding Douglas Fund in care of The Rhode Island Foundation, One Union Square Station, Providence, RI 02903.

David W. Ferdinand, Vietnam War veteran NORTH PLAINFIELD David W. Ferdinand, 57, of North Plainfield, died Monday (Nov. 26, 2007) at his residence. David was born in Jersey City, moved to New Providence in 1954 and settled to North Plainfield in 1980.

He was 1968 graduate of New Providence High School. He attended Teterboro School of Aeronautics and received a license in Air Frame and Power Plant. He was a former member of the Lions Club of Long Hill Township; an active member and bar chairman of the Warren American Legion Post 293; and an active member and trustee of the Elks Lodge No. 2392 in Stirling. David is veteran of the Army National Guard for serving during the Vietnam War.

David worked as a machinist for Burling Instruments in Chatham. He retired as plant foreman in January 2007 after 36 years of service. Surviving are his beloved wife, Donna (nee Amsz); loving children; son, Geoff and daughter, Lisa Dunlap; four cherished grandchildren, Alex and Michael Ferdinand and Kelsey and Julia Dunlap; his father, Harry and two brothers, Doug and Russell. Services will be offered 12:15 p.m. Saturday at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Scotch Plains.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Elks Special Children's Fund, Lodge No. 2392, 1138 Valley Road, Stirling, NJ 07980.

Barbara C. Neill, active in community GLADSTONE Barbara C. Neill died Monday (Nov. 27, 2007) at Care One in Parsippany. She was 77.

Born in Somerville, she lived in Bernardsville before moving to Gladstone in 1982. Mrs. Neill was very active in the Somerset Hills area. She was on the Board of Trustees of the Somerset Hills Community Chest. She was a Board Member of the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills from 1970 to 2002 and served as president from 1975 to 1976.

Mrs. Neill also served as president of the Bernardsville Professional Women's Association in 1982. She was on the Bernardsville Board of Health a and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bernardsville Fire Department. She also was a member of the Bernardsville High School Reunion Committee and was involved with the BHS Band. She also was involved with the American Field Service and the Somerset Hills Girl Scout Council and was on the Historic Preservation Committee of Peapack Gladstone.

She was a member of the choir of the Bernardsville Presbyterian Church and the Peapack Reformed Church. She was a member of the Fuel Merchants Association of NJ and served as vice president of the M.J. Neill, Inc. She was a past member of the Bernardsville Rotary and was a Paul Harris fellow. She enjoyed traveling with her longtime friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice J. Neill Jr. Survivors include a son, David A. Neill and his wife, Patricia, of Bernardsville; two daughters, Deborah Walther and her husband, Paul, of Brielle and Susan N. Boyer and her husband, Brad, of Mooresville, N.C.

She is also survived by four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Peapack Reformed Church in Gladstone. Arrangements are by the Bailey Funeral Home of Peapack, (908) 234-0590. In lieu of flowers, donations to the VNA of Somerset Hills, 200 Mt.

24 and 8 a.m. Nov. 25, an undisclosed but substantial amount of cash was stolen from a safe at the Hess station on Route 31 North in Clinton Township. Police said they have developed several suspects and arrests are expected. Patrolmen Mathew Wilson and Drew MacQueen are investigating.
