BEATRICE DAILY SUN Sunday, Sept. 2, 1945 University of Nebraska co-eds pack their grips and arc off to Lincoln to start their busy college life. Marvel Ball has selected for her traveling outfit a gold suit with black accessories, Pal Logan picked an aqua cardigan suit to blend u-ith her red hair and Joan Crittenden wears a navy blue suit and blue shoes. Merlin Ball, Mr. and Mrs. George Logan arc Pat's parents and Joan is the daughter of the L. C. Criltendens.

College hours seldom are ones of 'dressy clothes and fancy duds but most of the time is spent in comfortable togs, namely jeans and long sloppy shirts. This apparel is voted upon for lounging in the dorm and studying in the evenings. Well dressed for their college days are Mildred Fike daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fike who will enter ton University at St.

Louis, A University of Nebraska co-ed, Dorothy, Barnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Barnes and Lois Kaminska daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Otis Kaminska tvho will be a freshman at Drake University. For the first time in three and one-half years college students of 1945 will be packing trunks, and suitcases and preparing to take their places on a peace-time campus. Those students who are beginning their last year in colleges and universities will know their first year of school free of the hysteria and confusion of war and its effect on campus life. However for beginning freshman they will meet only the problems of reconverting back to a peace-time curriculum a problem every campus in the United States will face in some way.

While most colleges are anticipating a land slide enrollment this fall most of them are expecting a prominent co-ed majority. However by the end of January it is hoped that many boys will have returned to the campuses they left to join the service. To many young women peace-time college life means parties, long dresses, and all the sophistication of pre college days. No doubt much of the party atmosphere will return to the campus, but the students of 1945 are more serious and intent upon preparing for their future than ever before. A black crepe dress with black accessories and a snappy cerise hat is worn by Margaret Jean Krim (left) daughter of Dr.

and Mrs. John Krim who will enter Duschene college at Omaha. Standing behind the gate is Mary Anne Graff, a freshman at the University of Nebraska. She is wearing a black two piece ensemble highlighted with the popular check and wears black accessories. Miss Graff is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. E. L.Graff. Phyllis Weigel, (right) a freshman at Steven's college, Columbia, wears a perky tan suit with a white blouse and accented by black accessories. Mr.

and Mrs. William Weigel are her parents. No wardrobe for a co-ed would be complete without the ever popular plaid skirt. Wearing a plaid of blue, white and yellow is Mary Lou Humphrey (left) with a white sweater and brown and white saddle shoes. Miss Humphrey is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Ralph Humphrey will enter the University of i Nebraska. Bob Dickenman son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dickenman and Verlyn Kleman son of Mr.

and Mrs. W.R. Kleman dresg casually in sport shirts. Bob will be a freshman at the University Nebraska and Verlyn will be a sophomore. Rita Culver wears a white and red plaid skirt and an, aqua sweater, aqua anklets to match arid, brown strollers.
