F.B., Allegan Holstein Cattle Sale Is Held PAW PAW, March 24 Thirty-nine head of purebred Holstein dairy animals sold for an average of (252 per head at the third annual sale held Jointly by the Holstein breeders of Van Buren and Allegan counties. The sale was held here Saturday afternoon at the Kowalskl barn.

The average price was $91 per head above the average of the 1957 sale, according to Harold Sill of Lawrence, sales manager. A mature cow consigned by Lawrence Spencer of Lawton was the top-priced animal of the sale, going for $460. It was purchased by Nelson Hood of Paw Paw. Next highest price was $455, paid for a one-year-old bull consigned by Kaechele Bros, of Wayland. Seven animals went to 4-H and FFA members, who received a special 10 per cent discount.

A 4-H boy, Raymond Warner of Bhelbyville in Allegan county, paid $450 for a heifer consigned by Pickett Acres of Allegan. In addition to buyers from Van Buren and Allegan counties, Sill reported other purchasers were from Berrien and Kalamazoo counties and from Indiana.
