They were married in South Bend on September 21, 1935, and have no children. Attorney Carl E. Schultz represents the plaintiff.

FORCES WILL OUTFIT NEEDY PUPILS Appeal Goes Out For Usable Clothing To Aid School Children Organization of Parent Teacher forces here to outfit needy school children of St. Joseph is going ahead with enthusiasm under leadership of Mrs. Grant Pitcher, president of the Parent-Teacher Council, and Mrs.

Dent Parrett, the council's chairman of student aid work. These leaders have the full support of the student aid committee heads and the presidents of the four city school Parent-Teacher associations, located in the Washington, Lincoln, Garfleld and schools. Appeal For Clothing The student aid committee is sending out mimeographed slips by all school pupils, making an appeal for clothing and all usable wearing apparel. Student aid committee in each building are working with their presidents to make this collection. Each has its own committee to mend and repair the clothing before it is distributed.

Headquarters and a store room are being established at the Garfield school. Children of the public schools are to bring contributions to their school buildings. Already two civic minded organizations of women have made cash contributions to this cause. Women of the Postal Clerks auxiliary have given $5 and St. Joseph Lianas club members voted a $25 gift to the student aid work.

NEW LEGISLATION TO BE DISCUSSED AT C. OF C. MEETING Discussion of the proposed new legislation will be the principal feature of the meeting of the legislative committees of the twin city chamber of commerce scheduled to be held Tuesday noon at the Vincent hotel in Benton Harbor, according to the announcement made today by John G. Cox, secretary of the St. Joseph chamber of commerce.

A silver offering be collected for purchase of toys and articles for a Christmas basket. Proceeds of the Christmas bazaar of Zion Evangelical church were $350. it is announced today by the general chairman, Mrs. Henry Bittner, and the colorful affair drew the largest throng in the history of these events, which are sponsored by women of the Ladies' Aid society. Christmas decorations gave color and interest to the setting, with an electrically lighted tree a place of honor on the community room stage, where two of the booths were set.

Other booths, decorated in Christmas red and white, against garlands of Christmas greenery, were arranged about the community hall. Christmas gifts were arranged beneath the boughs of the Christmas tree. Proceeds of the bazaar came entirely from the proceeds of the booths and the dinner, as no donations were solicited from merchants and none of the money was raised by raffles. A party was given Wednesday evening at the Edward Yeske home, 402 La Salle avenue, where the Misses Lucille and Leila Yeske entertained at a 7 o'clock supper. Guests were members of the girls choir at Si.

High School Student Hurt Miss Virgil Shire, senior at the St. Joseph high school, was hurt in a fall at the school building this morning and was taken to the St. Joseph Sanitarium for X-rays. Church of 900 street, PROSECUTOR'S AIDE UPSETS COURT BY UNTIMELY REMARK An unintentional remark before. a jury in Berrien county circuit court this morning by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Robert Small nearly resulted in a mistrial of the case against Earl Thatcher, 38, Grand Rapids truck driver who is being tried on a charge of reckless driving.

Thatcher was arrested by Sheriff he attempted, to pull around a slow on October 17, when moving truck on the Wayne street viaduct and completely blocked traffic from the opposite direction. Thatcher was tried before Justice J. W. Cullinine and found guilty. He was ordered to pay a fine of $75 and costs.

He later appealed the case to the circiut court. At the opening this morning, Assistant Prosecutor Small, who had no connection with the inadvertently first trial stated in juscourt, in front of the jury that Thatcher had been convicted by a jury in justice court and appealed the case. Defense Attorney Albert Wing leaped to his feet and demanded a mistrial. Judge Fremont Evans the attorneys into his chambers. When he returned he told jury that he was convinced that Attorney Small did not intentionally make the remark and that it was agreed that the trial would continue if each juror promised not to take the remark into consideration.

All members of the jury agreed and the trial continued. It was expected to end late this afternoon. There are 5,000,000 table tennis enthusiasts in the United States. Ontario. The basis of the merger, it was stated, is to be an exchange of stock.

Briggs will offer two shares of its capital stock for each three shares of Motor Products Corp. The companies are two of the oldest organizations in the country making motor supplies. Stahl, young St. Joseph man injured in an auto accident Sunday night, was reported today. Stahl is a patient in Foote hospital at Jackson with a broken right leg, a broken left arm, a collar bone and possibly other injuries.

His mother, Mrs. K. R. Stahl, came home yesterday from Jackson but returned there this afternoon. She said doctors had informed her that her son was gaining and that they expected to set his broken leg tomorrow.

Catherine Seel, Miss Nellie Hanley and Mrs. Abbie Wright. LEAVES PORTION OF ESTATE TO CHURCH Two bequests to the St. Peter's Evangelical church of St. Joseph were made in the will of Mrs.

Henrietta Nelitz Friedenberg, which was filed with Probate Judge Malcolm Hatfield today. Mrs. Friedenberg died November 11, leaving an estate valued at $500 in real estate and $500 in personal property. The will stipulates that $50 be given to the church and a like sum to the church poor fund. The balance will be divided between two sons and six daughters.

Truck Speeder Fined Edward Ongenau, 18-year-old Joliet, truck driver, pleaded guilty to 8 charge of speeding when arraigned before Justice Joseph R. Collier late Wednesday and was fined $2 and costs.

"Seniority, as such, is not the sole basis for continuous employment," the statement said. The members of the United Automobile Workers of America, who called the strike last Friday, demanded a guarantee of seniority rights in promotions and lay-offs and a voice in the assignment of workers to jobs.
