-BECKLEY PCST-HERAID, BECKLEY, WEDNESDAY MORNING, AUGUST 3,1977 Deaths And Funerals Mrs. Nannie Wade Coleman Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie Wade Callahan, 87, of Shady Spring, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Conrad.

Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. She died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday at a Beckley hospital after a short illness. She was a housewife. She was bom at Rocky Mount, Nov.

24, 1889, a daughter of the late Joseph Pickett and Sally Patterson Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.F. Callahan, on July 1,1974. She is survived by two sons, Ned of Shady Spring and Warren Jr. of Dallas, four daughters, Mrs.

James (Kathryn) Johnson and Mrs. Ruth Gallagher, both of St. Albans, Mrs. Elizabeth Newland of Shady Spring and Mrs. Mildred Ricketts of Glen Morgan; two half brothers, Woodrow Wade and Walter Wade, both of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Mrs.

Adelia Wade of Norfolk, 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Friends may call'from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be James Cassity, Bill Crum, Clifford Lively, James Huffman, Gene Billups, Jack Stewart. Nancy J.

Eakle SUMMERSVILLE (RNS) Services for Mrs. Nancy Jane Eakle, 57, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Summersvilie Baptist Church with the Revs. James Crouch and L. Bruce Cooper in charge.

Burial will be hi Walker Memorial Park at Summersvilie. Mrs. Eakle died Monday evening en route to a Summersvilie hospital. Born Dec. 11, 1919, at Elkridge, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Florence Williams Hoffman.

Mrs. Eakle was a member of Order of Eastern Star, past president of the Mount Azelea Garden Club, a member of the Mountain Lake Garden Club, Nicholas Memorial Association and Summersvilie Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Hoy E. Eakle; one son, David Lee of Summersvilie; two daughters, Linda Ann Eakle of Summersville and Mrs.

Judy Stanley of Richwood; three brothers, C. W. of Whitesville, Robert of Cincinatti, Ohio and Fred Hoffman of Temple, one sister, Mrs. Delores Cullop of Kimberly, and three grandchildren. The family has requested that donations be made to the Summersville Baptist Church.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville. Alfred W. Flanagan WINONA (RNS) Services for Alfred Warren Flanagan, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home chapel at Ansted with the Rev.

Larry Gawthrop in charge. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memory Gardens at Victor. Flanagan died Tuesday morning in a Beckley hospital after a short illness. Born Aug. 29, 1900, in Fayette County, he was a son of late George and Ida Miller Flanagan.

A lifelong resident of Fayette County, Flanagan was a member of Longdale Lodge 14, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, at Lookout and a retired coal. miner. Survivors include his wife, Hannah; two daughters, Nancy Flanagan of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. Patsy Malay; one son, Robert, and two sisters, Mrs. Margie Small, all of Wtaona, and Mrs.

Thelma Peters of Lynchburg, two brothers, Richard of Clifftop and Ralph of Beauty Mountain, and one grandchild. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Longdale Lodge members will conduct graveside services. Frank Kelly Frank Kelly, 87, of MacArthur died at 7 p.m.

Tuesday in a local hospital following a long illness. The body is at the Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home hi Sophia. Mrs. Annie June Martin Funeral services for Mrs. Annie June 52, of Lanark, will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Thursday at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel by Bishop Alvin Brenlley, the Rev. Jack Stewart and th. Rev. Joseph Wilson. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at a Beckley hospital Tuesday at 12:50 a.m. after an extended illness. She was a housewife and a member of' Lightning Ignites Fires CLAYTON, Calif. (AP) Lightning striking brittle, water starved California ignited more than 100 brush and limber fires, including a six-milelong wall of flames that roared from state parklands here Tuesday and forced 50 families from their rural homes. A fleet of 35 aircraft carrying fire relardants took to smokeblackened skies at daybreak after fires burned over thousands of acres throughout the night across the state.

Fannie Jeffries of Minden, Mrs. Goldie Jeffries of Oak Hill, Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson of Lanark; two stepbrothers, Cleo Gill of Beckley and Claude Gill of Piney View; a stepsister, Mrs. Mildred Berry of i and grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m Wednesday.

One Martin Orie E. Martin, 77, of Coal City died Tuesday event" in a local hospital after an illness. The body is at Keyser-Bryant Funeral Home. She was bom at Amerest County, June 10, 1891, a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Elivia Rose Evans Cash. She was preceded In death by her husband, George Pruess, hi 1968, and by a son, John Mays, in 1975. She is survived by two sons, Julian Mays of Madison Heights, and Brj-on Mays of Placervfile, two daughters, Kate Dolby of Federalsburg, and Mrs.

Josie Aliff of Stanaford; two step daughter, Mrs. Earles Fitzgerald of Suffolk, and Airs. Bessie Kirby of Norfolk, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchilren and four great great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, at 1 p.m. Wednesday. She died Sunday in a Charleston hospital after a long illness. Born June 11, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Michael C. and Virgie Saye Fitzpatrick.

Mrs. Sleboda was a native of Dothan and had lived in Beckley several years where she served as a legal secretary to. J. W. Maxwell.

Beckley attorney, before moving to In 1957 she was appointed executive secretary to Gov. Cecil Underwood! in 1961 served as appointment secretary to Gov. W. W. Barron and in 1958 she was appointed editor of the Senate Journal until 1975, when she retired due to illness.

She was active in the Kanawha County Republican Woman's Club, the West Virginia Federation of Republican Women, the Kanawha County Republican Executive Committee and a member of the Kanawha United Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, John C. Sleboda; five sisters, Mrs. Oda E. Biggs of Beckley, Mrs.

Eva Cox and Mrs. Ora L. Starr, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Elizabeth Hawks, of Charlotte, N. C.

and Mrs. Marion Patton of Charleston and one brother. Richard L. Fitzpatrick of Cottagevffle. Friends may call from 2 to 4 pjn.

Tuesday and from 7 to 9 p.m. at tne funeral home. 5" Pauline Stuart LEWISBURG (RNS) Services for Pauline McDowell Stuart, 58, a state parole officer, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Jack K. Wallace Funeral Home at Lewisburg with the Revs.

Harold Etoiore and Garden Hillman in charge. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery. Ms. Stuart was stabbed to death Monday night by a parolee, Freeman Collins, 78, of Lewisburg at his home, Greenbrier County sheriffs deputies said. Collins has been charged with, murder, police said.

Surviving is one sister. Miss Gladys M. McDowell of Lewisburg. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

Law enforcement officers will serve as pallbearers. Eloise M. Thomas PETERSTOWN (RNS) Sen-ices for Eloise Matney Thomas, 75, of Route 1, Peterstown will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Mount Hedding United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Bailey in charge.

Burial will be in Mount Hedding Cemetery at LUIydale. Mrs. Thomas died Monday in a Beckley nursing home after a long illness. Bom Feb. 24,1902, in Buchanan, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Annie Muscraft Matney.

Mrs. Thomas had lived in Monroe County 38 years and was a member of the Mount Hedding United Methodist Church at Lillydale. Her husband, EstU Thomas, died la 1947, and a daughter, Mrs. Irene Raines in 1973. Survivors include two sow, George Thomas of Charlotte, N.

and Richard Thomas of ChrMitasburg, Va one daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Sayre of Southern Pines. two sisters Mrs. Mattle Welkle of Lexington, Ohio and Mrs. Stella Poff of Mansfield, Ohio; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Broyles Funeral Chapel in Peterstown from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to Nephews will serve as pallbearers and women of the church wiu carry flowers. Bertie Yeager PAGE (RNS) Services for Mrs. Bettie Yeager, 82, will be at 2 p.m.

Born June 25, 1895, at Blue Sulphur Springs, she was a daughter of the late George and Virginia Piercy Fleshman. Mrs Yeager was a member of the Kincaid United Methodist Church at Kincaid and United Methodist Women. Survivors include one son, G. Robert Yeager of Oak Hill; three daughters. Miss Cieo Yeager of Page, Mrs.
