The Salina Journal Friday, January 24,1986 PageNZ Massage Training offered by D. Maggie Kelley, a registered massage therapist and certified instructor in Topeka. The Salinans were Connie Harris, 143 S. llth; Eileen Cooper, 2058 Lewis; and James J. Brown, men's fitness center director at the Salina Family YMCA. The 30-hour course included instruction and learning a Swedish massage routine, applied anatomy and receiving a textbook for additional technical reference. Upon completion, a certificate was presented to each student making them a certified massage practitioner. Therapeutic message is on the ground floor in the holistic wellness field. The holistic approach is expanding attitudes about health, views the patient as an individual person, and makes use of the many modern as well as alternative approaches to health. One of the most advanced insurance training seminars in the country, the course is designed to develop professional marketing skills with health and life insurance products as well as the companies' other multi-line coverages. Bieberly is associated with the Tim Connor Division Office, the Mutual and United agency in Salina. Service awards given John Hauptli, president of School Specialty Supply, presented service certificates to employees reaching five years of service. Five-year certificates were given to Tonya Becker, Linda Borgmeyer, Elsa Boston, Etta Campbell, Joni Debold, Glenda Edwards, Jane Feuerborn, Sue Hern, Debra McCullick, David Morris, Gary Runyan, and Janet Wendland. Schneiders leads tour London, Bath, Stonehenge and the white cliffs of Dover. The Tower of London, West End theater, the changing of the guard and Covent Garden — all of this and much more will be experienced by a group of Sacred Heart students as they take a London and the Theater tour this summer. Twila Schneiders, an English and drama instructor I at Sacred Heart I High School, will I be the counselor for the Salina group. The tour is planned and professionally guided by Cultural Heri-l tage Alliance, a Schneiders Philadelphia-based student travel/ study organization. Leaving from the Kansas City International Airport on July 22, the group will join other American students in London for 10 days of activities. Transportation, hotel accommodations, excursion and theater tickets, and two meals a day are all included in the tour. Three at massage course Three Salinans were among a class of eight students to recently complete a 30-hour course in Professional Swiss team moves on On Jan. 12, the first round of the Grand Nationals (ACBL Swiss Team event) was played at the Red Coach Inn. The teams qualifying to go onto Wichita for further qualification are Jerry and Jane Belt, and Anne Cole and Sue Seibert, Salina. Also qualifying in second place were Don and Frances Caldwell, and Tom Mayhew and Mrs. N. Shafer, Hutchinson. There were 12 tables in play in this two-session event. A membership game was played at the weekly ACBL Monday night club on Jan. 13, with an average score of 24. The winners were Lea Lorenson and Loice Tolliver with 31. Tied for second were Marge Lederer/Mike Sheehy and Thelma Stull/Martha Harvey with scores of 26. Browning-McGaughy win The ACBL Friday Night Duplicate Bridge Club played at the Red Coach Jan. 17. The Howell Movement was played with four tables and an average score of 42. First was Arleen Browning and Mary Lee McGaughy with 54. Second were Marge Lederer, and Stan Jac- obsonwith47%.
