Board To Dam Okay WEST PALM BEACH -The Governing Board of the Central and Southern Florida Flood Control District (FCD) will consider the acceptance of the $1,119,682 lock and dam structure known as S-65 and located on the Kissimmee River at 9 a.m. today at FCD head-quarters, 901 Evernia Street, in West Palm Beach. If the Governing Board accepts the structure from the Corps of Engineers they will also consider bids for the operation of the structure.

S-65, located at the outlet of Lake Kissimmee, is one of seven large water control and lock structures along the 95-mile stretch of the Kissimmee Basin that will benefit a drainage area. Earman said that the antenna mounted in the water provides the station with expanded coverage. "It is rather like standing in the bathtub and putting your finger in the light socket.
