Two Cultural Events Presented By ACCK The Associated Colleges of Central Kansas (ACCK) are sponsoring two prominent cultural events this fall which are open to the public. No charge will be made for admission. In early October, "The Light Company" will appear on all six campuses of the Associated Colleges. This is a musical group made up of three United Methodist Ministers traveling under the sponsorship of the general board of Evangelism of the United Methodist Church. They are boih professional musicians and theologically trained clergymen. The three men, Dave Trout, Bill Hanlin, and Bob Morlcy see their work as "evangelism in the purest sense — the message of love in a contemporary medium." All three men hold masters degrees from the United Theological Seminary. "The Light Company'* will appear as follows: October 4, 9:30 a.m., Tabor College, Hillsboro October 5, 9.-:!0 a.m., Kansas Wesleyan, Salina October 5, 8:00 p.m., Bethel College, North Newton October 6, 8:00 p.m., Bethany College, Lindsborg October 7, 9:00 a.m., McPherson College, McPherson October 8, morning, Sterling College, Sterling In early November, the former warden of San Quentin Prison, Clinton T. Duffy, will speak on the subject, "I killed 88 Men and 2 Women — For You." Duffy began his correctional career in 1929 as secretary to the warden of the state prison at San Quentin. He became secretary to the Board of Prison Terms and Paroles and was named warden of San Quentin in 1910 and remained warden until 1951. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War I and is a past commander of the American Legion, San Quentin Post. Lindsay, mayor of New York City who recently switched from the Republican to the Democratic Party, and regarded by political observers as a possible presidential hopeful, will be the subject of a 90- minute interview on "The Dick Cavett Show" on the ABC Television Network, Tuesday, Oct. 5, 10:30 p.m. Film star Yul Brynner and writer Gay Talese, who were previously announced as guests on his date will instead be seen on the program of Friday, Oct. 22. Lindsay, a dominant voice among mayors who are urging quick federal aid for troubled urban centers, is expected to detail his progress In this area. Other points to be discussed will include his decision to switch to the Democratic Party, and the probability of his entering the presidential sweepstakes.
