Hutchinson News Saturday, Oct. 2, 1971 Page 20 Service Talk Capt. Warren L. Miller, whose wife, Sonia, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Georg, St. John, has received the Distinguished Flying Cross for aerial achievement in Vietnam. Captain Miller distinguished himself as a C-130E Hercules cargo-troop carrier navigator at Chu Lai Airfield. He is now serving as chief of the programming division of the 1st Aerospace Contro* Squadron, a unit of the Aerospace Defense Command. CWO Domie L. Wyant, son of Mrs. Pauline B. Miller, Ho ward, recently received his second and third award of the Bronz Star in Vietnam. CWO Wyant earned the award for outstandingly meritorious service as a quality control operations officer with Company A, 5th Transportation Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile). His wife, Laura, lives at 1720 North Washington. EO 3 Charles M. Wcnzcl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil L. Wenzel, 1102 West 30th, is home on leave after assignment with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion TEN Air Detachment Team in Mt. Fuji, Japan. The team participated in the construction of a Marine Corps training camp. EO 3 Wenzel will leave the mic'dle of October for Military Defensive Training at Port Hueneme, Calif., and then into a?nhalt school. He is a 1968 graduate of Central Christian High School. T. Sgt. Neal H. Blooding, whose wife, Norma, is the daughter of S. White, Lamed; has recently received the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal at Minot AFB, N.D. Sgt. Blooding, a safety technician with the Space Minot, was cited for his part in the modernization of underground missile silos at the Air Command base. John F. Plummer, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Plummer, Lyons, has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force upon graduation from Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, Tex. The lieutenant, a 1965 graduate of Lyons High School received a B.A. degree in history in 1969 from Kansas Wesleyan University. Training Workshop At Health Center NEWTON — The first session of a workshop designed to train persons for toutoring children with learning disabilities will be Oct. 4 and 5 at the Prairie View Mental Health Center. The workshop will assist tutors in understanding the characteristics and needs if learning disabled children. Attention will also be given to specific techniques and methods which j may be utilized in the remedia- i tion of these disabilities. I Writer's Session At Tabor College Workshop for both aspiring and published writers will be October 21, 22 and 23 at Tabor College here. Guest workshop director is Leslie Stobbe, editor-in-chief of Moody Press and former editor of Christian Bookseller Magazine and former associate editor of Christian Life magazine.
