Harold Lee of Winston, became the bride of James Blessing, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Blessing of King City, Saturday, June 4, at the Baptist church in Winston. The doublering Joins solemnized by unceremony Gooding of Winston. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a ballerina length gown of nylon tulle and lace.

The fitted bodice featured a sabrina neckline trimmed with bridal sequins and pearls. Her fingertip veil fell from a tierra of sequins and pearls. She carried a white orchid surrounded by pink baby rosebuds. only jewelry, a single strand of pearls, was a gift from the bridegroom. Mrs.

Jerry Allee, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a deep pink chiffon gown with boat neckline and matching headpiece and carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations. David Peterson, brotherin-law of the bridegroom, was best man. Brenda Blessing and Mrs. Peterson, sisters of the bridelighted the candles.

They wore identical gowns of pale pink chiffon similar to that of the matron of honor. Dean Lee, brother of the bride, and Karl Frederick cousin of the bridegroom, were ushers. The bride's mother wore a two-piece navy and white dress with white accessories; the mother of the bridegroom a twopiece navy dress with white accessories, and both wore red corsages. Mrs. Thomas Mansil presided at the guest book.

Misses Phyllis Cox, Zoanna Lee and Quinita Lee were custodians of gifts. The four-tiered wedding cake, baked by Mrs. Wesley Lee, was served by Miss Sue Crone and Mrs. Thomas Mansil. Punch was poured by Margaret Hulet and Mrs.

Virgil Lee Case. After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Blessing will live on a farm near King City where Mr. Blessing is employed by Gordon Spiking.

and Mrs. George Handley of King City. Discuss Outdoor Cookery The Lamplighters Extension club met Wednesday night with Mrs. Joe Kagay. Nine members, four children and one visitor, Mrs.

Frank Schmidt, attended. A lesson on "Outdoor Meals" was led by Mrs. George Pulley and Mrs. Lloyd Linninger. S. C. S. had a noon luncheon meeting Tuesday at the church with Mrs. Garnett Hutton and Mrs.

Alice Brand as hostesses. Twenty-five members attended the business meeting, which was in charge of the new president, Mrs. W. T. Gassner.

Plans were made for several to attend an officers' training course at Maryville June 22. Worship was led by Mrs. Byron Dewey and Mrs. Carl Cogdill. Mrs.

Hattie Patton will be hostess at her home Friday noon to members of the Depend-on-Me class of the Presbyterian Sunday school at its regular monthly covered dish luncheon meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jennings entertained at a picnic supper last Thursday night at their home Mr. and Mrs.

Leon Jennings of Maysville and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Fisher and family of St. Joseph. The Fishers have since left for Greeley, where he will be in school this summer.

Mrs. Charles Boyd went to Kansas City Monday to attend wedding of her nephew, Richard Kent Williams, at the Country Club Christian church. Next year will be his third year at Northwestern university, where he is studying medicine. Miss Carol Jenkins, granddaughter of Mrs. Boyd, was to be candle lighter at the wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Esely of Amity were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jennings Saturday night.

Mrs. LeRoy Hobbs spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. Wayne Hayes. The Echo Extension club met Thursday afternoon June 2, at the Parsons Tea room with fourteen members and five guests present. Pal gifts were exchanged and refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs.

J. L. Wheatley. The club toured the of Conception Abbey Wednesday, June 8. A dinner celebrating the birthdays of Otis King and Joe Moran was held at the King home Sunday.

Kerns. Announce Engagement Mr. and Mrs. George Bollinger of Union Star announce the engagement of their daughter, Rita' Eilene, to Kenneth Clay Swartz, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Clay Swartz Miss Rita Eilene Bollinger of Maysville. No wedding date has been set. Miss Bollinger, a graduate of Union Star high school, is employed by American Angus association in St. Joseph. Mr.

Swartz, a graduate of Maysville high school, is employed by the Woodbury Chemical Co. Local Samuel Jameson, has been appointed secretary of Camp No. 2694, Modern Woodmen of America, according to A. S. Elder, national secretary.

He will succeed Mrs. Charles A. Boyd. Mrs. Veda Fern Hoyland drove here from New York City last week for a visit with her mother Mrs.

Edna Cook, her sisters Mrs. W. B. McCrea and Mrs. Leslie Robison, and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Levy of Muskogee, visited here last Friday with their uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Julius Levy and their cousins Leon and Miss Belle Mayer and Mrs.

Kirk Dennis. They had spent several days "taking the water and drinking the baths" at Excelsior Springs. Mrs. Curtis Askins and Mrs. John Race, elementary teachers here who are taking graduate work this summer at Drury college in Springfield, spent last week end in their homes here.

Helen Keys will present her piano and organ pupils in a musicale at 8 oclock Friday night at the Presbyterian church. The public is invited. and Mrs. Glen W. Maize of Bethany, and James Millan of Bowling Green, are to be married at 2:30 oclock Sunday afternoon, June 19, at the Christian church in Bethany. Namesake of his grandfather, who was a well-known King City man, Mr. Millan is the son of Mrs.

Elizabeth Millan of Columbia, and the late Robert Millan, and a cousin of Mrs. James B. Pettijohn of King City. He is an attorney at Bowling Green. He and Miss Maize both are graduates of the University of Missouri at Columbia.

The Friendship club met last Tuesday with Mrs. Jack Holeman for a noon luncheon. Eight members and eight children attended. The next meeting will be July 5 with Mrs. Allen Gordon.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Alan Sugg and Miss Patty Payne. Their dresses were identical to that of the honor attendant. They carried bouquets of yellow and white daisies and wore headbands of the same. Dean Johnson his brother as best the served, groomsmen were Leon Dew, brother of the bride, and Morris Johnson, cousin of the bridegroom.

Ushers were Tommy Rankin and Wayne Colborn. A reception in the fellowship hall of the church followed the ceremony. The bride's table was covered with a white linen cloth and a centerpiece of yellow sweetheart roses. Attending the guest book were Miss Janet Gardner and Miss Sue Jobe. Rice bags were distributed to the guest's by Misses Maxine and Nancy Johnson, sisters of the bridegroom, Miss Nancy Coatsworth, cousin of the bride, and Miss Nancy Danuser.

For traveling Mrs. Johnson wore a tailored brown and checked-cotton suit with white accessories and a white orchid corsage.
