Hamesser Of H-Bomb Big Flop , LONDON m British scien lists acknowledged yesterday that Zeta, the huge doughnut shaped machine they hoped would help to harness the H bomb, is a big disappoint ment. They are going to try again. They will build a new machine called ICSE (intermediate current stability experiment). It will not be ready for two or three years. Zeta (zero energy thermonuclear assembly) is the apparatus the scientists once thought had produced for a thousandth of a second the tremendous force of an H-bomb reaction under control. THEY DESCRIBED the machine as the first of four stages toward producing peaceful power from thermonuclear reaction the fusion of hydrogen atoms. They have since decided they were too optimistic. The trouble was that they could not get Zeta hot enough. It leaked too much energy. The failure of Zeta was dis closed in the fifth annual re port of Britain's Atomic En ergy Authority. Zeta developed a mysterious energy leak, the report said, " m wr, v VT9 Nationally Advertised ot $49.95.
