METRO Hahn's centers number 1 5 Market fairly active Ward, Woolworth, Macy's and Neiman-Marcus. According to a 1974 survey by the National Mall Monitor, Hahn is the 10th largest shopping center developer in the United States. Last year, its percentage increase in developer-managed gross leasable area was the highest in the country a 60 per cent increase to more than 11.4 million square feet from 7 million the Drevious vear. 1 shares, down from the heavy 28.44 million Friday. Phase II of Laguna Hills Mall, scheduled to open this month, will add 832,015 square feet and 83 shops. The largest Hahn center under development is the 1.2-million square-foot Mt. Hood Mall in Portland, Ore.

It will have 128 shops. The smallest is Bird Cage Walk in Sacramento, which will have 78 shops in 302,000 square feet. Major stores in Hahn-managed centers or projects under development include Sears, Roebuck; W. T. Grant, J.

C. Penney, Ohrbach's, Montgomery states Virginia, California, Washington, Montana, New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, Texas and Oregon. Shops at these centers total 2,229. The grand total of Hahn centers developed or underway is 36, encompassing 28.2 million square feet and 3,470 shops. Hahn recently was named Developer of the Month by National Mall Monitor.

According to the publication, the organization dates to 1946 when the Hahn-St. John contracting firm was founded and performed its first job a $600 remodeling of a garage in Hawthorne. Hahn, prospective developer of the Bridgewater Commons regional center, brings almost 30 years of experience to Central Jersey as plans progress here for the center on a 122-acre site bounded by route 22, 287 and 202-206. Since its founding in 1946 in Hawthorne, the firm has developed, remodeled or acquired shopping centers totaling 11.5 million square feet of retail space in California, New Mexico, Utah and Virginia. All told, these 15 regional centers under Hahn's management have 1,241 mall and peripheral shops.

Jerrold Davis of Lake Hiawatha has been appointed administrator and manager of the Bamberger's Plainfield store. He replaces Cedric Sones, who is manager at the new Deptford store. Davis was a buyer for Stern Brothers before joining Bemberger's in 1973. William B. Boyd has been named vice president and general manager of the U.S.

Plumbing Products Division of American-Standard's Western Hemisphere Building Products Group, New Brunswick. Boyd previously was vice president of the Environmental and Energy Systems Group of the Carrier Corporation. Dr. Richard W. Brenner of Tree Top Drive, Springfield, has been named director of surgical education at Overlook Hospital.
