Capper, City Clerk Getting Foxed On The Foxes? DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Slate Rep. Reed Casey, D-Allerton thinks Iowa is paying bounty on red or gray fox that are caught in neighboring Missouri. Explaining why he is sponsoring a bill to change the state bounty law, Casey who lives near the Missouri border, commented Sunday: "A Missouri fox is a little hard to tell from an Iowa fox." Under Iowa law, a county pays a mandatory bounty of $2 per animal. Casey proposes to make the payment optional. The bounty is intended to protect a farmer's chickens from wild animals. Some south Iowa counties have quit paying bounties. Casey said he has even heard of some fox being briught into Iowa from Kansas.
