The agent educated Kelly about the MGM box office success starring a dolphin. "Are you crazy?" Kelly replied. "Me do a series with a dolphin, two kids and a lot of fish? Nobody would ever know I was in it." The agent prevailed and escorted Kelly to MGM for a chat with producer Ivan Tors and his staff. "I won't play him as the usual type of television father whom who wants only to sec that his family is happy' he said.

"This guy will have to be a real disciplinarian. The kids must know that if they don't toe the mark, they'll get taken behind the woodshed." On that basis and with some salutary terms Brian Kelly signed for "Flipper." You can see the results on NBC every Saturday. Judging from the ratings, the series has hope of surviving the season.
