I The Minnesota Twins and the Milwaukee Bre-wers ended their current series Wednesday night, and the Twins were probably glad of it. single. (UPI) The Minnesota North Stars announced Wednesday that Charles Burns, 37, and Bob Nevin, 35, were taken in the reverse draft conducted at the annual National Hockey League meetings in Montreal.

Burns was taken by the Portland Buckaroos of the Western Hockey League, and Nevin, a 15year NHL veteran, was taken by the Springfield Kings of the American Hockey League. Following the draft, Minnesota purchased Burns, who has 12 years service in the NHL, back from Portland. The North Stars also drafted goaltender Lyle Carter from California for goaltending insurance. The draft permitted teams in the AHL and WHL to claim L-o players for $15,000 each regardless of the reserve list on which their names were placed. Each NHL team had 37 players exempted from the draft.
