Walter Strouse, WESH-TV manager, confirmed yesterday that the station had signed a contract for network affiliation with NBC in New York. Program details, however, were not available. Strouse also announced that a contract definitely will be let Monday for construction of the base for a new transmitter fower and building near Orange City. Work will start immediately. Strouse said.

When the tower is completed, the station will increase its power from 5,000 to 100,000 watts, thus extending its reception possibly as far as Tampa and St. Petersburg. Strouse's announcement ended speculation on where the NBC network facilities would be housed Daytona Beach or Orlando's newest TV station, WLOF, which has said previous; Jy it hopes to be on the air by the first of the year.
