Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jeanne Hofmann of San Carlos Park; three sons, Steven Hofmann of Park City, Utah, Mark Alan Hofmann of Fort Worth, Texas, and Gary Douglas Hofmann of Dearborn, two sisters, Joy Neuber of Erie, Colo, and Janice Tesene of Manhattan, and five grandchildren. Christian Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m.

A retired civil engineer for the state of Ohio, he was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Europe from 1943 to 1945 as a staff sergeant 3rd Army 27th field artillery battalion, and was a member of Halycon Masonic Lodge No. 398 of Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Zmunt is survived by his wife, Celia; step-daughter, Norma Lee Schwab of LaJofle, sister, Al-thea Winet of Vero Beach; one step-grandchild and two step great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Saturday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church (ELCA), 804 Pine Island Road, with Pastor Harold Popp and Pastor George Serbe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Messiah Lutheran Church of Hope Hospice. KENNETH FRAYNE ESTERO J. Kenneth Frayne, 78, of Tahiti Village and Oakville, Canada, died March 13, 1990, at Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Frayne had wintered here for the past 21 years and was well know as a harmonica soloist in local churches, moblie home parks and nursing homes. He was a member of Fort Myers Senior Citizens Harmonica Band, Mariners Cove Music Group and Tahiti Village Troubadors. Mr. Frayne issurvived by hiswife, Donalda of Estero and Canada; three daughters, Eleanor Stark of Niagara Falls, Canada, Ruth McKinlay of Oakville, Canada, and Sharon St.

John of London, Canada; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Myers of Allen Park, Mrs. Jessie Sanner of Detroit, Mich, and Mrs. Jean Diehl of Dearborn, and four grandchildren, Kim and Lisa Stark and Scott and Lara St. John all of Canada.

Memorial services will be Friday, March 16, 1990, at 1 p.m. at Estero Unied Methodist Church, with Rev John arham, Pastor, officiating. Burialwill be in Canada. The family request memorial contributions may be made to Estero United Methodist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Frayne.

Patricks Day .50 off evervthina By The Associated Press CHICAGO Psychoanalyst Bru-Jrio Bettelheim, a student of Sigmund Freud who taught that violent fantasies and fairy tales were part of a healthy child's psychology, killed himself at a nursing home at age 86, authorities said. Bettelheim died Tuesday of suicidal asphyxiation at the Charter 'House in Silver Spring, said Dr. John E. Smialek, Maryland's medi-eal examiner. Friends said Bettelheim recently had suffered a stroke.

Montgomery County police said Bettelheim was found with a plastic bag over his head, and he had taken "some pills." Evans also said that a note was found, but she did not disclose the contents.
