McCoy has served as soloist during High Holidays at the Ezra Habonim Niles Township Jewish Congregation in Chicago, was a featured artist in the Naples Yom HaShoah interfaith service and is co-creator of Shir HaShirim, a chamber concert merging classical art song and the Song of Songs. While on tour with Andrew Kurtz, conductor of the Florida Jewish Philharmonic and world-tour conductor for the PBS special "Cantors: Faith in Song," McCoy studied first-hand the cantoral traditions of the world's greatest living cantors: Benzion Miller, Alberto Mizrahi and Naftali Herstig. McCoy's debut as cantoral soloist will be at 7:45 p.m. Friday at its Sabbath-eve service. The public is invited.
