practice of law and is known professionally as Orpha A Merrill Mrs Hines branch presi dent will preside at the dinner meeting for which Mrs Cros by is in charge of reservations Eligible5 women for membership in the AAUW are reminded to call Mrs Crosby after 4 pm for res ervations Now serving as executive secre tary and counsel of the Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys with an office in the Law School nt the University of Oklahoma Mrs Merrill was admitted to the practice of law May 30 193 1 after a quarter of a century of intermit tent study of law She has collaborated with her husband research professor of law at OU in an article titled Uniformity in Adoption pub lished in the Iowa Law and also published several legal notes in the Oklahoma Law Review A member of the Norman City Planning commission since 1356 Mrs Merrill is a member and past president of Aitrusa an interna tional service club for women member of the AAUW and past president of the stateorganization and is affiliated with the League of Women Voters and the Mcar lin Methodist church Norman She also is a member of Kap pa Beta Pi international legal sor ority and various bar associations HOSTS TO SOCIAL the Home Mission board at Atlanta Rev Edgar Jacks served as pas tor for half time for a while but was soon on a full time basis and it was during this time that the church purchased and remodeled a bouse to be used as a parsonage During the pastorate of Rev George Mattocks in 1939 the church voted to build a new church building and the work was started in July of that year In August Harry A Peck laid the first brick for the present building In 1947 Rev Sutterfield was called serving as pastor until 1953 when he accepted the call to the Cordell Baptist church In November of that year Rev Heiliger ort Worth Tex was called serving for one year and resigning to enter the evan gelistic field He was followed by Rev Jack Stuart who resigned in May 57 to accept a call from the Trinity Baptist church in Chick asha The present pastor Rev Gar rett was called in the fall of MRS MERRILL Norman attorney grouping by schools for a school pep team yell contest Swinney school group was chos en as loudest" with a group from Roosevelt school named as giving the most original yell Intermediate Scouts entered a timed nature hunt in which pa trols took separate hikes to see what variety of plants trees and animal life that their campsite sheltered After re assembling each patrol leader showed small samples of what her patrol had found1 After Intermediate and Brownie Scouts hiked back to
