BOYKO, Michael, (1957 2003) Michael left this earth on December 13, 2003 leaving behind many loved ones including his parents, Edward Steven and Lois Jean; a son, Luke; a daughter, Melissa Grayson (Ryan); two grandsons, Devin Ismail; his brother, Edward (Patty); sister, Joan Brewer (Tom); nieces, Carissa, Jackie, Ashleigh and Christine; nephews, Clayton and Christopher as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mike loved fishing, riding his Harley and playing with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held at Holy Hope Cemetery on December 29, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Alice Andreas Bryan Passed away December 16, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Alice is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Len Bryan. She is also survived by daughter, Carolyn (Matt) Knott of Tucson; son, Stewart (Elaine) of San Diego; and their daughter, Seannie; daughter, Lisa Bryan of Tucson; and her son, Scott. She was preceded in death by her dear son, Robert. Alice was born in Philadelphia, PA, attended Girls High School there, attended University of Texas in Austin, where she left to marry naval officer husband, Len Bryan in 1944. She then taveled lived around the world including France, Japan and the Philippines while raising her children.

She settled in Tucson with her family and became an active member of 2 garden clubs, Patio and Los Palos Verdes Garden Clubs. In addition, she supported many other charities in Tucson with her time and financial support. She has requested no memorial services. Her remains will be placed in the Andreas family plot at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Honeybrook, PA.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late John and Agnes Ohm. She grew up in Pittsburgh and lived in California for many years before moving to Tucson. he had worked at Bell Telephone Co.

of Pennsylvania as an operator for years before moving to California. She was an avid traveler and volunteered for more than 25 years at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tucson, AZ. She leaves a sister, Joan Will, of Hope, RI and many beloved nieces and nephews. A private memorial service is planned.

FREY, Frederick, 79, passed away December 14, 2003. HUDGEL'S SWAN peacefully December 14, 2003 surrounded by her loving family. Preceded in death by husband, Harley V. 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene, and is survived by his daughters, Teresa Mello, Cynthia (Armando) Miguelez, and (Jeff) Johnson; nine grandchildren, Trevor, Logan and Amee Johnson, Ryan (Janet), Matthew and Scott Arneson, Xana, Ariana and Armando T. Miguelez; one greatgranddaughter, Abigail; two brothers, Louis (Lena) and Frank (Donna), and one special sister-in-law, Donna Day and their families. Tony was a veteran of WWII and served in India and Burma. He was an air traffic controller and pilot for over 30 years, and was acting chief at the Tucson International Airport for many years. He used his vast knowledge of and enthusiasm for aviation as a volunteer docent at the Pima Air Museum after his retirement.

Tony and Earlene were pioneers in Alaska in the 1940's where they both worked for the U.S. government. Alaska became their home away from home. Tony will be missed but warmly remembered by his family and friends. His was a life well A memorial service will be held at St.

HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME. Ray Eldon Guisinger May 24, 1944 December 18, 2003 Ray passed away in the early hours of December 18, 2003 at the VA Hospital in Tucson, AZ. Ray is survived by his wife, Glades his son, Ross, Ross' wife, Carla and four step grandchildren, his Vera (Floyd) Livingston of Custer, SD and Monica (Jim) Schneider of Rapid City, SD and their families. Ray was loved as a brother by Glades' siblings, their spouses and families, Clark -(Rosa) Dierks, Nancy (Rodney) Piper, Rose (Roger) Schlem, W.J. (Rick) Ramsden, Grant (Pati) Dierks and Ward (Paula) Dierks.

Always lovingly called Uncle Ray or Superman, Ray leaves behind 16 nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Ray was a construction superintendent for Construction in Rapid City, SD for over 20 years building custom homes, schools, hospitals, courthouse, motels, etc. He was a maintenance supervisor for Northstar Management in Tucson, AZ for over ten years. He served in the Army in Vietnam. He loved the Black Hills of SD, hunting, fishing, boating, billiards, reading, and spending time with loved ones.

He was loved by many and his passing is a great loss to all who knew him. Services will be held Monday, December 22, at 3:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. HINDSLEY, Cecelia Ann, 74, passed away December 14, 2003 in Tucson, AZ.

She was born August 28, 1929 in Plattsburgh, N.Y. the daughter of Wilfred and Nellie (Trudeau) Lemieux. Cecelia is survived by her two sons, Derrick Hindsley and Robert (Altagracia) Gowett; a grandchild, Arturo Yepiz and a brother, Eugene (Esperanza) Lemieux. A Memorial Mass will be said Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 1800 S.

Kolb Tucson, AZ. Arlene D. Savoie Age 74, of Tucson passed away peacefully on December 18, 2003 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends. A resident of Tucson since 1954, Arlene participated in PTA, Sahuaro Women's Club and Junior Assembly.

She was active with her late husband, Dr. Gene Savoie in The Arizona Dental association, American Dental Association and the Arizona State School for the Deaf and Blind, and was invaluable in Gene's 1972 Congressional bid. We have lost our sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. Her quick wit, comedic personality and caring attitude touched many and will be cherished forever. Arlene is survived by her sister, Ada (James) Roenius of Wisconsin; son, William (Maria Teresa) Savoie of Tucson; daughters, Penny (Jack) Wixon of Tucson, Peggy (William Moss of Carefree, AZ and Suzanne Savoie of Tucson and grandchildren, Robert and Brian Savoie, Robert, Matthew and Joseph Maurer (and their father, Michael); Brittany and Michael Moss; great -grandchild, Sabrina, and many nieces and nephews, and her dog, Nikki.

A visitation will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway) on Sunday, December 21, 2003 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

Yvonne Beatrice Huber December 14, 1921 December 10, 2003 Yvonne, we all love and miss you! Kathleen Uhr Hurlburt Passed away at the age of 77 on Our dear mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at the Mountain View Retirement Home in Tucson after a brave battle with lung cancer. With her characteristic Swiss tenacity she even beat the doctors survival predictions and stayed active to the last days of her life. Born in St. Gallen, Switzerland, Yvonne enjoyed a colorful and fulfiling life In her youth she lived in Holland and Indonesia learning the Dutch language but came home to Switzerland when WWII broke out. Yvonne was a free spirit and the larger world beckoned again and in 1952 she emigrated to Canada with her three-year-old son.

A beautician by trade she operated successful hair salons in Vancouver, BC and in 1955 moved to California where together with her partner, Thelma Lewis, she built a flourishing beauty salon business in the San Francisco Bay area while raising her son. After visiting a dear friend in Tucson, she fell in love with the Catalina Mountains and the desert and in 1969 moved to Tucson, AZ. As an avid painter, Yvonne depicted the scenery and the people of her beloved Tucson in her many awardwinning paintings. In a typical artist's fashion she lived her life independently doing things her own way. Her colorful and fun-loving character won her many friends locally and worldwide.

She enjoyed life with lots of laughter, good friends and liked to create fun experiences for herself and for others. In her 34 years in Tucson she helped many people with her warm and giving ways and even the Governor sent her best wishes for her 75th birthday. Yvonne is survived by her son, Rene Welti; daughter-in-law, Maria; and two grandchildren, Nina and Michael in Atlanta, GA; and her sister, Cecile in Switzerland; and many dear and lifelong friends in AZ, CA, BC and Switzerland whom she regarded as her family. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Tohono Chul Park, Tucson's well known nature-desertpark, on Sunday, December 21 at 2:30 p.m. where a tree is dedicated in her honor in her beloved Tucson desert surrounded by the Catalina Mountains.

All Yvonne's friend are invited to the memorial service. We meet at the park entrance under the ramada next to the Admissions office at 2:15 p.m. There is a 5-minute walk to the Grotto area. December 12, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lt. Col. Daniel A. Hurburt, Jr.

USAF three sons, Daniel Ill (Susan), Brian (Kim), Scott (Anita); and seven grandchildren, Capt. Ivan USA, Daniel IV ARNG (Heather ARNG), Tate, Brianne, Brittany, Brian, and Victoria. Kay was an active member of the community spending many hours fund raising for the Tucson Boys and Girls Club, and active member in the PEO Chapter AU. A private family memorial has taken place. The family Leora Tomkinson Jay (Toots) Tucson-Leora "Toots" Tomkinson Jay passed away at the age 89 of natural causes incident of age.

She was born to Raymond and Emma Tomkinson on February 14, 1914 in Pomerene, AZ. Leora was the youngest of six children. Four older brothers and one sister. All have preceded her in death. On April 30, 1934 Leora Tomkinson was married to Thomas Jay in Warren, AZ.

Shortly after being married the couple moved to Ajo, AZ. After six years in Ajo, they moved to Douglas, AZ then back to Ajo and then to Tucson where she resided until her death. Tom also preceded her in death. Leora had a very full life. As a young girl she worked at the Lyric Theatre in Bisbee and when she turned 16 she was employed at the soda fountain in the Phelps Dodge Mercantile also in Bisbee.

She actively served her community, church and country. During WWII she worked tirelessly as a volunteer USO worker, folding bandages and serving young soldiers coffee, donuts and making them feel at home for the few hours that their train stopped in Douglas, AZ. She served her whole life as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many responsible positions including service in Primary, Sunday school, Visiting Teaching, Young Women Relief Society and Genealogy. She was always devoted to community activities and supported Tom in his political endeavors.

She always stated, "I was born a Democrat and I'll die a Democrat." Leora is survived by her only son, George (Barbara) Jay of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Tom Jay of Montrose, CO, Roger (Korri) Jay of Silver City, N.M., Sherill (Bobby) Armstrong of Farmington, NM; two stepgrandchildren, Melissa (Paul) Wilczek of Salt Lake City, UT and Michael (Jen) Chaney of Virginia Beach, VA. She had six great-grandchildren, four step-greatgrandchildren and one great-greatgranddaughter. Leora is survived by four special Beatrice Still, Debbie Still, Susan (Allan) Bulzomi, Velvallee (Wayne) Cluff and Charlette (Jim) Henry. These special nieces have provided Leora with special love and care all during her life. She also is survived by a great many other loving nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to a loving granddaughter, Sherill for providing special tender loving care during Leora's final days. The family expresses appreciation for the care she received from all the staff at Mountain View Retirement Village, Hospice Services Carondelet's nurses. Funeral services will be held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY CHAPEL, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile, at 10:00 a.m.

HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME. LASCH, Iris Anderson, passed away in peace at University Medical Center in Tucson on December 16, 2003 at the age of 98. She was the widow of Robert Lasch, former editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and winner of the Pulitzer Prize, and had lived in Green Valley for over 30 years. Mrs.

Lasch was born in Linn Grove, Iowa, the daughter of William and Erika Anderson and one of eight children, including the late Duane Anderson and Kent Anderson of Tucson and the late Dewitt Anderson of Green Valley. She received her BA from Drake University and MA from Columbia University. Mrs. Lasch served her country in World War Il the United States Navy and retired from the naval reserves as a Lt. Commander.

She spent her career as an educator in the Des Moines, Iowa public schools, retiring as Dean of Girls at Lincoln High School. Mrs. Lasch was preceded in death by stepson, Christopher Lasch. She leaves behind stepdaughter, Catherine Allen (Gerald) of Pine, CO; seven grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Anderson of Green Valley and many nieces and nephews, including William Anderson (Kay) and John Evans (Sally) of Tucson.

MEINERS, John passed away Norine Morrison Norine Katherine Morrison, 92, passed away December 16, 2003, shortly after suffering a severe stroke. A Memorial Service celebrating Norine's life will be held Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 East Broadway in Tucson, Arizona, 85710. A Carl and Norine Morrison Memorial Fund in support of the Music Program at Christ Presbyterian Church has been established in Norine's Memory. Norine was the wife of Dr.

Carl Emmett Morrison, D.O. to whom she was for 58 years prior to Carl's passing in 1992. Norine was born to Frank and Maude Alice Byers on January 2nd, 1912 in Colusa, Illinois. She is survived by her son, Larry Byers Morrison and his wife, Petite Catlin Morrison of Pasadena, California; grandchildren, Edith Norine (Yosufi) Tyebkhan of Pasadena, Eileen Grace (Robert) O'Leary of Manhattan Beach, California and Noel Christopher (Kelly) Morrison of San Francisco, California as well as great-grandchildren, Daniel Tamim Tyebkhan and Gavin Patrick O'Leary. Norine was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Tucson, which she and Dr.

Morrison attended for over 30 years. She was a member of the choir and was active in Church Circle. As a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Norine was a choir member, frequent soloist and junior choir director. She was also active in the community serving as a den mother for the Boy Scouts, president of the Parent Teachers Association at Washington Elementary School and President of the Women's League.

Norine was an active member of PEO in the St. Cloud, Minnesota and Tucson, Arizona Chapters. Norine served as president of the PEO Chapter in St. Cloud, Minnesota. In 2001 she was honored at the State PEO convention in Phoenix as a 60 year member.

Norine grew up in Colusa, Illinois where her father owned a general store. Norine, youngest of the four Byers sisters, would often join her sisters Annice, Doris and Helen in musical activities including singing and playing a variety of instruments. Norine graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa and attended Carthage College in Carthage, Illinois. Norine then taught in a one room schoolhouse named the Jubilee School in Burnside, Illinois for several years. Norine married Carl in 1939 and supported Carl as he obtained a liberal arts education at Carthage College and Doctor of Osteopathy degree in Kirksville, Missouri.

Norine and her sisters, along with Carl's sister Gertrude, helped Carl and Phil Morrison and Pete Hansen earn their D.O. degrees by working at their family owned eateries the Kozy Kupboard in Carthage, Illinois and the Dining Car in Kirksville, Missouri. The Morrison sisters were famous for the thousands of pies they baked and meals they prepared for students and faculty. In both Minnesota and Arizona, Norine was active in support of the American Osteopathic Association, serving as president of both the local St. Cloud and State of Minnesota AOA Auxiliaries.

In these capacities she both aided the Osteopathic Profession in' general and particularly supported the activities of her husband Carl, who served as AOA national president and was a key leader of the AOA's successful quest to achieve full licensing rights for the practice of Osteopathy in all 50 states and the United States armed services. Norine is lovingly remembered by her only child, Larry Morrison, as a fun, creative, and resourceful mother who encouraged his studies, his art and musical interests, and his involvement with scouting, church, and athletic activities. Each year, Norine and Carl led family expeditions to the Gunflint Trail along the Minnesota-Canadian border with Phil and Doris Morrison, James and Annice Thulin and Pete and Gertrude Hansen. In winter, they often visited Byard and Helen Myers in Tucson, Arizona, before eventually settling in Tucson in 1961. Norine will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving and extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and member of the community who always had a kind word for all and lived with grace, humor and dignity.

She is missed in this life but has found her restingplace with her loved ones beyond. Howard W. Moser Born November 1, 1922 died December 11, 2003. Born on a farm in Monroe Township near Berne, IN to Oren and Louise (Kirchhofer) Moser. He married Imogene Schindler who survives.

In June 1961 he moved his family to Tucson, Arizona where he owned Leeson Upholstering until contracting Guillian Barre' in 1976 forcing him to retire. He served as Deacon and Elder in Trinity Presbyterian Church, Tucson, where he was a member since 1962. Howard was an Arizona Philatelic Ranger, a member of the Tucson Stamp Club and the Postal History Foundation. Surviving are his wife, Imogene; three daughters, Donna Lawrence, N. Las Vegas, NV; Arlene (Jeff) Seekatz, The Woodlands, TX; Elaine (Steve) Crowell, Plano, TX; and a son, Lynn Alan Moser, Tucson; a sister, Evangeline (Ornell) Lehman; brother, Virgil (Pat) Moser and sister-in-law, Coleen (Denver) Rich.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University, Tucson, 85705, on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. Instead of flowers, Howard requested memorials in his name, be sent to Trinity Presbyterian Church Music Enrichment Fund, Trinity Presbyterian Church, or to the Children's Education Fund, The Postal History Foundation, 920 N. 1st. Tucson, AZ 85719.

Born in Glencoe, MN and a resident of Arizona for 23 years, Fred loved the sunshine and lifestyle of Tucson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosemarie; three daughters, Wendy James, Peggy Burns and Laurie Skjerseth; son, Frederick Robert nine grandchildren, Ben and Leo James, Becky and Molly Burns, Erik and Amy Skjerseth and William, Hannah and Charles Perschau. Since 1995, he and his wife have lived in Sun City Vistoso and have been members of Vista de la Montana United Methodist Church and Oro Valley United Church. Fred was a 50 year and Life Member of Hope Lodge AF and AM of Glencoe, MN and was a 32nd degree Mason with the Scottish Rite and a member of the Sabbar Shrine in Tucson. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 22, at 1:30 p.m.
