Carl Swendson and William Huffman swept to office on the Marshall city commission race here yesterday. According to complete but unofficial returns from the city's five voting boxes, Swendson defeated opponent Milton Williams Jr. for Place One on the commission, 2,087 to 1,175. Huffman was successful in his bid by defeating Harry I. Thompson Jr.

for Place 2 by a vote of 2,399 to 733. There was a total of 3,326 cast. I-20 Bypass Bridge to Be Delayed Times Capital Bureau BATON ROUGE Construc-1 tion of the I-20 bypass, bridge across east Cross Lake in Shreveport will be delayed until the Louisiana Supreme Court resolves constitutional questions, the State Highway Department said Tuesday. Caddo District Court Judge Henry F. Turner dismissed last Wednesday a petition for an injunction to halt construction of the bridge.

However, Caddo District Court Judge John A. Dixon Jr. had already declared unconstitutional state statutes permitting the highway department access the lake. The state has appealed that ruling to the state Supreme Court. Tuesday morning.

He was treated at Schumpert Hospital and released. No Clues Found In Dynamiting PORT ALLEN. La. (AP) City police said Tuesday they have turned up no clues in a Monday night dynamiting that exploded in the back of a store. Shots were fired into the same store a year ago.

Police Chief J. G. Francois said it appeared someone tried to toss the dynamite top of the National Food Store and missed. The explosion knocked out windows in three houses across the street and caved in the windshield of a truck. A small girl in one of the homes was scratched by flying glass.

Francois said the store, which employs Negroes, has had no recent racial or labor troubles. Last year's shooting incident occurred during picketing of a group of Negroes demanding equal job opportunities.
