THE art The photography of Nan Goldin, who has lived and snapped the urban cultural and sexual underground for 25 years, will be presented at New York City's Whitney Museum of American Art this Thursday through Jan. 5. Included will be portraits, interiors and landscapes captured in cities around the world, notably Boston, New York, Bangkok and Berlin. Show It should be pretty funny, and entertaining, to see ex-'80s pop star Debbie Gibson (author of the top-10 hits Only in My Dreams and Lost in Your Eyes) cast as legendary Ziegfeld Follies star Fanny Brice in a stage revival of Funny Girl. The musical kicks off a tour in Pittsburgh this Tuesday, with stops in 30 cities. Of course, for some, the real Funny Girl will always be Barbra Streisand, who defined the role in the '60s. book QctoberisNational Breast Cancer Month. Renamed Denise Waverly by her manager, Edna (loosely based on Carole King) runs into beaucoup trouble from lousy men in the music biz.
