Stepping forward from the ranks of the convicts assembled on the balcony of the fourth story of the main building in San Quen-tin prison late yesterday, Walter Crow, a prisoner, attempted suicide by throwing himself to the pavement, a distance of thirty-five feet. Unconscious when picked up, Crow was carried to the prison hospital, where it" was said he would die. Crow was serving from one to ten years under sentence from Los Angeles for robbery.
