SUPER DERBY XII Zeeruler is Super surprise By BILL MclNTYRE The Times A mystery guest on the Super Derby panel showed up in stall 15 at the Louisiana Downs stakes barn Thursday. Stable's Zeeruler turned up without much advance notice, arriving almost incognito in a fire engine red van with yellow stripe. Zeeruler was the seventh and final piece in the Super XII jigsaw puzzle. Assistant, trainer Dave Wilkinson ushered Zeeruler, a paternal side grandson of Northern Dancer, into an enclosure that had been reserved for D. Wayne Lukas' Corporate Report.

But Thursday morning, McGehee and 15 other pitching prospects for the San Francisco Giants were scattered around Fair Grounds Field, brushing up on the finer points of getting people out.

With a changing of the guard on their pitching staff in the near future, the Giants are conducting a two-week pitching clinic in Shreveport. Sixteen of the best minor league pitchers in the organization are getting some intensive training from a staff of coaches led by roving pitching instructor Les Moss.
