ADULT FITNESS RACQUETBALL & HANDBALL No black soled or street shoes, please. Colored soles (red, blue, green, etc.) may be accepted. Court Fees: Walk on: no charge. (Members only). Reservation: $2.00 Challenge Courts: Monday-Friday: 11:15 am-1:15 pm & 5:15 pm- 7:15pm Youth Courts: Monday-Friday: 3:15 pm-5:15 pm, Saturday & Sunday: 2 courts all day. Free use of racquets and racquetballs for youth! RacquetballlHandball Ladders: These ladders were designed to give you a chance to meet and play new people. This is not a league and is run mainly by the players. The ladders are located on the posts between the courts. To sign up, find the appropriate ladder, place your name and phone number (where you're most likely to be reached) on one of the tags. Then check the rules posted by the ladders and begin challenging! Babysitting Service: The YMCA is providing a babysitting service for parents who are participating in the YMCA PROGRAM. This service is for children, infant to 10 years of age. There will be a fee of .75 per family per visit. Nursery cards may be purchased at the front desk for $7.50 for 10 visits. Hours are Mon. thru Fri. 8:30 to 11:30 am, 4:00 to 8:30 pm. We ask that the parents use this service so they might enjoy the facility without the concern of the safety of their children. Please do not let your children go downstairs unattended while you are in a class in another part of the building. Parents are NOT allowed to leave the building when child is in the nursery. We want you to record your miles to Anne. After you run 100 miles, walk 50 miles or bike 100 miles, your name will be engraved on a special plaque that is placed in the hallway by the track. Fitness Evaluations: The physical fitness evaluation consists of: blood pressure, resting heart rate, height and weight, skin fold measurements (this determines percentage of body fat and ideal body weight), flexibility evaluation, abdominal evaluation and cardiovascular endurance. Evaluations are made by appointment with Anne. FEE: Free 2 Weeks — January 5 through January 19. $5.00 members, $20.00 nonmembers. CPR and First Aid Certifications: Dates and times to be announced, TENNIS Court: Reservation: $4.00 members only. A ball machine is also available for use by members. Fitness and Exercise Programs: We strongly recommend that anyone beginning an exercise program has a fitness evaluation. This is for you to find out your own personal fitness level and it helps us place you in the fitness class or program that is best for you. Please see Anne for an appointment or any questions that you might have. Winter Session: Jan. 2-May 2. FEE: members free, nonmembers $30.00. Please sign up at the front desk to assure your enrollment. YOUTH Basic and Building Package: Each and every membership includes, at no additional cost, the use of a specific locker room (determined by the membership purchased) and a locker, the use of the pool for open and lap swimming, use of the jogging track and weight lifting machines, (youth, Jr. High, and under must be with parent) open gym, pick-up basketball, pick-up volleyball, exercise classes, professional fitness counseling, racquetball and handball, plus indoor tennis. Back-A-Youth Fund: These are funds given to the YMCA by interested businesses and individuals which are used to purchase memberships for financially disadvantaged Salina youth. These funds are given according to need. The Salina YMCA offers a wide variety of aquatic programs. Throughout the year we will be offering special events which will be fun for the entire family. Come and join us at the YMCA and get in the swim of things. Please pre- register for ALL CLASSES. Registration deadline will be Friday before the classes scheduled to begin on the following Monday. Please register well in advance so we can arrange for a suitable number of instructors and to AVOID CANCELLED CLASSES. Saturday classes will meet 10 weeks (January 18-March 20) and a mini session (April 19-May 17). Small classes may be combined when its in the best interest of the children and the instructors. Get your child enrolled in swimming — not only for instruction but to experience the exercise, fun and safety skills they can utilize the rest of their lives. Effective January 13, swim lessons will begin at 6:30 pm-7:15 pm. Open swim has been changed to 7:15 pm-9:00 pm. Changing these times allows families more time together in the water. Master's Swim Program: If you are out of high school or college and enjoy competitive swimming, Master's Swimming may be for you. Contact the Aquatic Director for more information. SO Mile Master's Program: Log your laps and join the many names on the Swim Plaque hanging in the track area. No charge to members. Contact Aquatic Director for more information. Lifesaving Classes: Advanced lifesaving swimmers age 15 & up. Fee $10.00 for members and $20.00 for nonmembers. Date and time announced according to interest.
