The play "Third Best Sport," has brought in more than $551 and the Players voted to give $50 to the United Way as a community gesture. Tentative plans were made for an area theatrical workshop sesson, inviting all community theater groups to .take part next Spring. Mrs. Betty Andersen was named chairman with Mrs. Doris Bomgardner, Mrs. Bessie Ralston and Mrs. Rose Ernsely working out plans for invitations :to area players and to formulate plans. Readings for Nov. 13 and 14 were announced by John Darr, president, for the next play."Lo and Behold," at 7 p.m. in the Friendship Forum. Darr will direct. A champagne supper at SJO.per persoji is to be sponsored by the Junior Woman's Club Feb. 20 with the proceeds to be donated to a community affair in the names of the players and the club. Then the play will be open to the public at $1.50 the two following nights. Robert "Pat" Patten, chairman, said help on sets is needed for the Lehigh Acres Follies for the All States Club. Of fowltr LONDON (AP) - The British army proudly displayed on Friday the result of an eight-week baking exercise - Princess Anne's wedding cake. The cake stands 5 feet 8 and weighs 145 pounus. It's a gift from the Royal Army Catering Corps to the 23-yard-old daughter of Queen Elizabeth II. Anne marries Capt. Mark Phillips on Wednesday at Westminister Abby. The cake was designed by Warrant Officer David Dodd, who spent the first four weeks soaking the needed fruit in brandy. The five-layer cake was baked in separate sections at an oven temperature of 350 degrees allowing about an hour for every pound. The army would not reveal the cost but confectionery experts estimated it was about $4S0. The top layer carries a silver vase of flowers, the cuat of arms of Princess Anne and the regimental crest of her bridgegroom. The army issued the following list of ingredients: 10 lbs of butter 10 lbs of brown sugar 84 eggs 12' 2 lbs of plain four 26 lbs of currants 15 lbs of sultanas, large raisins 12 lbs of seedless raisins 3 lbs of mixed peel 2 lbs of glace cherries 3 lbs of flaked almonds 3 lbs of ground almonds Peel of six oranges and six lemons 2 oz of cinnamon and mixed spices 10 lbs glycerine 2 oz of brown coloring Salt . 2 bottles of brandy I lbs of apricot gla.e 16 lbs of marzipan 22 lbs of icing sugar 41 egg wiles Quarter ot a pint ot acetic acid drops of blue coloring The butter and brown sugar were creamed together until smooth and then the eggs added. Then the flour and all the other ingredients were thoroughly mixed together. Once the cake was baked and cooled hard, icing was applied ami trimmed with decorations made of blue coloring.
