Mr. Frisch, an avid golfer, died Sunday, May 7, 2000 in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. He had resided in Shreveport for 22 years and was retired credit manager for Mobile Oil Company after 29-12 years of service. Mr. Frisch was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Elks Club.

He served his country for 3-12 years during WWII in the United States Army. Survivors are his wife of 54-12 years, Margie Frisch of Shreveport, LA; sisters-in-law, Bernice Cauble of Shreveport, Joan Napollio of California and Vivian Walace of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Christina Evans of New York; brother-in-law, Alton Lowe i' of Shreveport and nephew, Neil Frisch. Mr. Smith was a retired carpenter with Local 764. He was ordained as a deacon at Liberty Baptist Church in Carthage, TX in 1948 and was a charter member of Pinecroft Baptist Church since 1952. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Robbins. Dunphy, age 65, died at Willis Knighton Bossier on Monday, May 8, 2000 after a brief illness. He served in the Peace Corp. and was a veteran of the USAF. He was also a member of the Louisiana Forestry Association and a graduate of the University of Texas. A retired independent insurance agent after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his sons, Kevin and Christopher Dunphy.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammie L. Dunphy of Elm Grove, LA; and one son and daughter-in-law, Stephan L. Dunphy and Patricia Dawn of Austin, Texas; one grandson, Christopher Jordan Dunphy of Elm Grove, LA; four sisters, Phyllis Drew of Island Falls, Maine, Mary Roberts of Houston, Texas, Jane "Babes" Harrigan of Ascutney, Vermont, and Sharon Dubois of Island Falls, Maine; two brothers, Leon "Buddy" Dunphy of Island Falls, Maine and Robert "Bobby" Dunphy of Island Falls, Maine. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, lla Hale Petty. Mr. Petty was a retired sculptor and ceramist. Noted ceramist, worked with Niloak, Camark, Haeger, Ceramic Arts, Royal Hickman, Phil-Mar and Markel Lighting. Featured in many articles for his pottery work.

IN MEMORIAM John Floyd Smith, Jr. CORPUS CHRISTI, TX Mr. John Floyd Smith, 75, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 6, 2000. Graveside services will begin on Tuesday, May 9 at Forest Park Cemetery at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Rev.

Smith was a native of Shreveport, LA and a resident of Corpus Christl, TX for 34 years. He was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, an Admiral in the Texas Navy, Past Commander of the United States Power Squadron-Corpus Christi, a member of the Elk's Lodge and a 32nd degree Mason-life member. A graduate of Fair Park High School, Mr. Smith attended Louisiana State University before joining the Marine Corps.

In the "first wave" of the assaults on Iwo Jima, Saipan and Tinian, Mr. Smith was attached to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Divisions. Distinguishing himself under fire, he received the Bronze Star for heroism and bravery beyond the call of duty. After a lengthy career in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Smith remained active as a pipeline consultant.

Along with his wife, he enjoyed traveling around the country. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Fern Smith. He Is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Mouton Smith; one daughter, Paula (Pat) Kolda of Corpus Christi; one son, John Gregory (Berkley) Smith of Clear Lake, TX; six grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as Shaun Smith, Houston; Crystal (Rudy) Miranda, Clear Lake, Zachary and Ian Kolda, Corpus Christi; and Tanner and Hanna Smith, Clear Lake; two greatgrandchildren, Christian Davidson-Smith and Avery Miranda of Clear Lake, TX; one sister, Margaret Ann (Dusty) Rhodes of Shreveport, LA; two nephews and many dear friends. He was very active in the American Legion having served three terms as commander of The Olliff Fair Post 300, the Benson Baptist Church and the District VIII Volunteer Fire District.
