Mrs. Daniels was bom on July 17, 1924 and passed away at her residence following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was a retired nurse of 35 years in Houston and Center, TX. She was an active member of Magnolia Baptist Church, and a past member of First Baptist Church of TX. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Exa Hatcher; sister, Willie Wilson; and brother, Murrell Hatcher. Mrs. Daniels is survived by her husband, Roy E. Daniels of the Hunter Community; son, Larry Whitlock and wife Margaret of Garrison, TX; daughters, Lisa Langston of Tenaha, TX and Linda Burch and husband Terry of Logansport, LA; sisters, Helen Pendelton and husband Dewey of Houston, TX; stepdaughter, Carolyn Rhymes and husband Jackie of Shreveport, LA; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Colin Broadus, John, Jason, and Jeremy Blunt; and great grandsons, Trey Taylor and Randall Whitlock. Frank Akin of Denham Springs, LA. Mr. Smith died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 after a sudden illness. He was born August 24, 1929 in Baxter Springs, KS and was a former resident of Springfield, MO. A resident of Shreveport, LA for the past 40 years, he was a Certified Public Accountant and business partner in the accounting firm of Smith, Pugh and Rabinowitz LLP.

He was a member of St. Mark's Cathedral, served as Junior Warden and was instrumental in the St. Mark's Day School. He also served as Senior Warden and the Chair of the search committee that established the first deanship of the cathedral. Rev.

M. L. Agnew was the recipient of that first decision. A member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, he was a graduate of Drury College in Springfield, MO. Bill served as presi- dent of the Louisiana Board of Accountancy.

He was a member of the Shreveport Club and the Cambridge Club and a former member of the Petroleum Club, the University Club and Southern Trace Country Club. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his daughter, Kendall Ann Smith. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Woodbury Smith of Shreveport, LA; one sister, Loda Hedrick of Bend, OR; and two nephews, Kirk W. Hedrick of Sacramento, CA and Gary Stephen Hedrick of Bend, OR.

Casso SHREVEPORT, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy B. Casso, 85, of Shreveport, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2001 in Centuries Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Father Pike Thomas, pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Casso passed away Thursday, February 22, 2001 at the South Park Guest Care after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Casso obtained her teaching degree from Louisiana State Normal College and taught briefly in Doyline, LA prior to joining her husband in his military career which took them all over the world. They returned to Shreveport in 1966 in time to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and have resided here since. Mrs. Casso was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Maggie Belle Dry; three brothers, Henry, Wesley and Jody Dry; two sisters, Ruby Dry and Mattie Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bernard L. Casso of Shreveport; a daughter, Margaret Casso Toney and husband, James of Atlanta, GA and a son, Bernard L. Casso, Jr. also of Shreveport. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Jeff Toney and wife, Vionette, Scott Toney, Lisa Toney Rembert and husband, Jon, Emily Casso, David Casso and great-grandson, Addison Toney.

The information led police to stop a 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass at Ford Street and Boisseau Avenue.

They found $850 and about 4.4 ounces of crack cocaine with a street value of $12,500, said police spokeswoman Kacee Hargrave. Bossier fugitive caught in Arkansas A Haughton man wanted in connection with saddle thefts and domestic violence has been captured in Arkansas, where he was working off and on as a horse trainer at Oaklawn Park.
