Tiffany was born August 5, 1983 in Shreveport, LA and died in a motor vehicle accident Saturday, February '17, 2001 in Bossier Parish. She was a member of Oakmont Church of God and a lifelong resident of Haughton, LA. Riptoe was born November 17, 1939 in Shreveport, LA. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Moriah B.C. and later united with Greenwood Acres. She was retired from Consumer Products.

She departed this life on Feb. 16, 2001. Betty will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her loving husband, John L. Riptoe; three sons, Ronnie Alexander (Pamela), Kevin Scott (Debbie), Eric Scott (Debbie three daughters, Kimala Scott, Chenita Horton, Trina Scott; three brothers, Sidney Alexander, Charlie Alexander, Lane Alexander (Marie); three sisters, Mary Gipson, Carolyn Thomas, Shemeta Daniels; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Vosbury and husband, Robin, Eddy Bradley and wife, Kathy, all of Haughton, LA; maternal grandparents, Linda Raab and husband, M. L. of Haughton, LA, Ernest Palmer of Ringgold, LA, Mr. and Mrs. Robert F.

RKree Vanderpool, Jr. MONROE, LA Mr Robert Lee vanderpool, Jr. died at his home bunday evening following a lengthy illness.

Bom on November 10, 1918, in Galveston, Texas, Mr. Vanderpool was graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from ulane University in 1941 and served as a Lt. Commander on the USS Alcyone from 1941-1946. After beginning a banking career at Citizens State bank in Dickinson, Texas, Mr. vanderpool moved to Monroe in 1951 to join Ouachita National Bank, where he assumed the presidency in 1952.

He served in this capacity until 1985 when he became Chairman of the Board of ONB as well as Chairman of the Executive Committee and Director of Louisiana Bancshares, Inc. From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Vanderpool was Vice Chairman and Director of Premier Bancorp, Inc. In addition to assuming such professional leadership as President of the Louisiana Bankers Association and member of the Government Relations Committee of the American Bankers Association, Lee Vanderpool evidenced his enduring commitment to this community by serving as president of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Red Cross Fund Campaign of Ouachita Parish, Chairman of the United Givers Fund of Ouachita Parish, President of Bayou DeSiard Country Club, and President of the Northeast Louisiana University Foundation. A member of the Board of Trustees of the Episcopal Church Diocese of Western Louisiana and of the Board of Directors of the Monroe Area Industrial Development Corporation, Mr.

Vanderpool also led efforts to secure funds for the construction of Plum Street Overpass and widening of Forsythe Avenue and to save the YMCA from closing. In recognition of his contributions, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce presented him with- the 1975 David C. Silverstein Award. Even more profound than his dedication -to community was his devotion to family and friends, who honor his legacy of integrity and compassion. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Loscalzo Vanderpool; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Steve Haedicke of Monroe; his son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Bernadette Vanderpool of Las Vegas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeannine and Ivy Jordan of Monroe and Jewel and Ernie Baker of Houston; and three nieces.

His life was also enriched by seven grandchildren, Stephen, Cameron, and Jordan Haedicke and Lee, Vanessa. Derek, and Damien Vanderpool and one great-grandchild. Preceding Mr. Vanderpool in death were his brother and sister-in-law, Sherrod and Mabel Vanderpool. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

on Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe with the Very Reverend Richard Ginnever officiating. Burial will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Hank Biedenharn, Murry Biedenharn, Gerald Dean, John Dienes, Bill Ethridge, Dick Ethridge. Dr. Thomas Mulhearn, and Dr.

Kirt Touchstone. Named as honorary pallbearers are Nelson Abell. Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe, LA, 318-323-0505 Ruth Alene Morgan Caldwell SHREVEPORT, LA Ruth Alene Morgan Caldwell died February 15 at Christus Schumpert Hospital following corrective heart surgery.

She was bom January 11, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Henry Samuel and Almeda Glen Morgan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe Caldwell, parents and younger brother Douglas Samuel Morgan. Ruth graduated from Woodward High School 1939 and the University of Tampa, Florida in 1943. Her career in music education began as music instructor at the Brandon Florida Consolidated School. On June 16, 1945 she married Joseph Sidney Caldwell and moved to Shreveport where she joined the Shreveport Symphony as a charter member in 1947.

She was a faithful member of local 116 of the American Federation of Musicians and a founding member of the Shreveport Unitarian church. During her long career as musician, teacher and artist she served as president of the Greater Shreveport Music Teachers Association and Shreveport Art Club. She maintained a music and art studio spending many happy years teaching the joy of making music. Until her death she was an active member of the Shreveport and Longview Symphonies. She frequently played with other regional orchestras and activley pursued her interests in teaching music, painting and photography.

Ruth is survived by three children, daughter Sidney Ruth Hanner and husband John of Ontario, California, son Samuel Joseph Caldwell and wife Daphne of Shreveport, son Robert Morgan Caldwell and wife Melissa of Benton, four grandchildren Laney Rena Caldwell, Joseph Sidney Caldwell, Sean Roberts, Douglas Roberts and wife Brenda, two great grandchildren Kellsie and Trisha Roberts, three sister-in-law, Edna Davis, Norma Staley, Jackie Montgomery, one brother-in-law Robert Caldwell, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Ruth was recently honored by her colleagues for her unprecedented years of service to the Shreveport Symphony and her memoiy is cherished by the many students and friends touched by her love, friendship and encouragement. A celebration of her life, music and art will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 21 at the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church. Visitation with the family will be in the Church Parlor at 1 1 :00 a.m. Ellen died on Sunday, February 18, 2001 at LSU Health Sciences Center -Shreveport, after a valiant year-long struggle with leukemia. She was born on September 13, 1971, in Alexandria, Louisiana, and had resided first in Shreveport and later in Benton since 1984. She was a graduate of Caddo Magnet High School and Centenary College, where she received her B.A. in biology in 1993.

While at Centenary, Ellen sang in the Centenary College Choir. She did post-graduate studies at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and was a veterinary technician with Bellevue Road Animal Hospital in Haughton. Ellen's lifelong love of music and animals will be how her family and friends always remember her. She is survived by her loving husband, Hunter C. Pickett of Benton; her parents, Dr.

Horace and Joyce English of Shreveport; a sister, Dr. Robin English, of New Orleans; father-in-law, Henry E. Pickett, of Bossier City; mother-in-law, Kathy Beard Pickett of Shreveport; grandparents, Montine English of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry E.

Pickett, of Lake Charles, along with numerous aunts, uncles and friends. During the year of Ellen's battle with leukemia, she received the finest health care imaginable at LSU Health Sciences Center and it is the family's desire that the doctors and nurses who cared so deeply about Ellen be recognized and know that they have the family's heartfelt thanks for all they did. Among those professionals are Dr. B. Barry Weinberger, Jennifer Nicholson, R.N., and the other nurses and staff in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Dr.

Gerardo San Pedro, the incredible staff in the Intensive Care Unit and all the others at LSUHSC who helped so much and tried so hard. Lastly, the family will be eternally grateful to the wonderful anonymous bone marrow donor who gave to a stranger the gift of life. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the funeral home. Mrs. Halley died Sunday, February 18, 2001 at Willis-Knighton Bossier. She was born in Lafayette, LA and was a resident of Bossier City, LA since 1932. Mrs.

Halley was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Civitans and Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Cater and William D. Halley; three brothers, Joseph R. Thibodeaux, James Thibodeaux and Harold Thibodeaux. Dale Harvey Gleason LAFAYETTE, LA Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2001 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Dr. Dale Harvey Gleason, 80, who died at 6:35 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2001 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Rev. Robie Robicheaux, pastor St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate. Dr. Gleason was a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of the late Harry Gleason and the former Dorothy White, and had been a resident of Lafayette since 1968.

Before his retirement, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. He retired as an officer. Captain Gleason continued his education and received his doctorate in education from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. He moved his family to Ruston, Louisiana where he taught at Louisiana Tech before moving to Lafayette in 1968. At U.S.L.

he taught in the Education Department until his retirement in 1983. While at U.S.L. he proudly served as a sponsor of the Student Louisiana Teachers Association and he also served as coordinator of Secondary Education. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Educational Fraternity. Survivors include his wife the former Marguerite Louviere of Lafayette; two daughters, Linda Ruth Gleason of Natchitoches, Brenda Franks of Shreveport; three sons and their wives, Dale Ellison and Linda Mae Gleason of Denton, Texas, Gale Harvey and Linda Lee Gleason of Lafayette, Glen Eugene and Melanie Gleason of Ruston; one step-son, Bert Broussard of Fort Worth, Texas; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca and Jim Cheshire, Cheryl and Tom Warren, Dale and Kristie Gleason, Rhonda Gleason, Richard Gleason, Donald Hollingsworth, Gabe Franks, Angela Lawrence, Ashley Lawrence, John Gleason; four great-grandchildren, Lynn Warren, Raelee Warren, James Cheshire and Dylan Gleason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, the former Johnnie Ruth Nelson. Mr. Wallace, a native and lifelong resident of the ShreveportKeithville area, passed away Sunday, February 1 8, 2001 in Keithville, LA after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Mrs. Tapp was a native of Lake Providence, LA and she and her family traveled extensively throughout the world during her husband's career as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. She loved to garden, cook and sew, but will be remembered most notably as a loving mother and grandmother and as a gifted artist of landscape and nature scenes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Tapp: parents, Andrew Jackson Clary and Minnie Mae Sanford Clary; brothers, J.D.

Richardson, Leonard "Son" Clary, Jim "Jimmy" Clary; sisters, Vernez "Ned" Lingenfelter and Lillie Mae Wagley.
