The event is sponsored by the Salina Parks and Recreation Department and the Youth Task Force of The Partnership. The concert and dance is open to middle and high school youths. Ivory Star, a four-member band based in Omaha, Neb., will provide the music. The band covers songs by groups as diverse as the Violent Femmes and Three Dog Night and also performs original material. The band is working on its second album. Band members are Donette Smith on vocals and guitar, Storm Rhode IV on guitars and vocals, Troy Allen Johnson on bass and vocals and David Smith on drums and vocals.
